The organizer of the fourth round of the XXV tournament was Lokomotiv. It took place on April 27 and was dedicated to the memory of the honored coach of the USSR Yevgeny Ivanovich Lyadin.
Before the start of the tournament, a minute of silence was observed in memory of a member of the RFU Veterans Committee, Sergei Vasilyevich Kulikov, who passed away at the age of 72.
1) Dynamo – CSKA – 1:0 (Likhobabenko)
2) Dynamo – Spartak – 0:1
3) Dynamo – Torpedo – 1:0 (Skokov)
4) Dynamo – RFU - 3:0 (Dubrovin, Kozlov, Smirnov)
5) Dynamo – Lokomotiv – 1:1 (Dubrovin)
1st match. The powerful onslaught of Dynamo immediately ended with a goal – Valery Likhobabenko closed the shot from the left flank. In the future, it seemed that the score would grow, but the blue and white did not realize the advantageous moments.
Viktor Losev: Dynamo is playing solidly, they absolutely deserved to win. It's a pity that we didn't score more, but there were enough opportunities.
2nd match. The game with the future winner of the tour was the hardest. Spartak players dominated the field, although their goal looked illogical – they scored in the crowd at the gate. In the second half, the Spartak goalkeeper saved his team after a headbutt by Stanislav Dubrovin.
Mikhail Skokov: Spartak has assembled a cheerful team, they are attacking famously, they manage to roll back. We conceded a stupid goal, but we could have scored a labor goal. Dubrovin plays great at the top and hit accurately.
3rd match. Dynamo's game advantage could not translate into goals for a long time, although there were opportunities. Nikolai Smirnov ran away one-on-one twice, but he couldn't score. The last minute of the match went by, and in a frantic attack Vladimir Skokov pushed the ball into the goal – 1:0.
Alexey Kutsenko: We shuffle back for a long time, slowing down the pace. The striker opens, waits for the ball, and the transfer is late. Hurry up, hurry up.
4th match. Dynamo scored three goals-handsome. Dubrovin immediately launched the ball in an arc into the dead zone for the goalkeeper, Alexei Kozlov made his way along the right edge with a change of rhythm and struck a powerful blow, and Nikolai Smirnov elegantly cheek rolled the ball into the goal abandoned by the goalkeeper.
Mikhail Markin: It seems to be an easy game, and a major victory lifts the mood. It's a pity, there weren't enough spectators, they played spectacularly, even I liked it myself.
The 5th match. After Dubrovin's goal and the continuation of Dynamo attacks, the hope of winning was strengthened. But one of the rare attacks of the locomotives brought them unexpected success. In the future, only bad luck can explain that instead of a fair victory, we had to settle for a draw.
Vladimir Dolbonosov: Bad luck happens in football, and it's unpleasant, but not scary. The game of our team looked solid today. We created scoring chances, we didn't allow a "fire" in defense. But the main thing is that we follow the strategic plan: Dynamo increases the gap from the pursuers – this pleases.
The Dynamo team consists of Vyacheslav Mikheev (goalkeeper), Andrey Novgorodov (captain), Eric Yakhimovich, Stanislav Dubrovin, Mikhail Markin, Alexey Kozlov, Valery Likhobabenko, Vladimir Skokov, Alexey Kutsenko, Nikolai Smirnov.
