The twelfth round of the XXIV tournament "Never-Fading Stars" took place on December 17 at the Lokomotiv arena and was dedicated to the victory of the USSR national team at the 1956 Olympics in Melbourne.
1) Dynamo – Spartak – 0:0
2) Dynamo – RFU – 0:0
3) Dynamo – CSKA – 3:0 (hat-trick by Stanislav Dubrovin)
4) Dynamo – SVF – 0:1
5) Dynamo – Lokomotiv – 1:0 (Nikolay Smirnov)
1st match. The game advantage in the first half was on the side of Dynamo, in the second the game was leveled up. Dynamo scored three shots on goal – all strong and accurate. Our goalkeeper was prevented from showing his skills by the dedication of the defenders.
Viktor Losev: Spartak players tried to pinch us, but our defense played without mistakes. They couldn't even create moments. I consider the result satisfactory.
2nd match. Dynamo played a game with an emphasis on attack. Its tip was Stanislav Dubrovin, tirelessly scurrying at someone else's gate. He exhausted the defenders pretty much, but he failed to turn two half-moments into goals.
Alexey Kutsenko: The opponents do not allow our team to hit the goal, they fall under the blow. But it seems to me that there will still be goals, all Dynamo players are playing with the mood.
3rd match. Dubrovin got so into the taste of the attack, easily peeled off from custody and constantly beat that the fans began to wonder how much he would score. He scored three, and could have scored five, but the goalkeeper prevented him.
Stanislav Dubrovin: It turned out to be a very productive game. I am also happy with my personal success, although I don't count my goals, let the statistics do it. The team scores, period.
4th match. Dynamo came out against SVF, having already secured the championship, so they played calmly and solidly. In the second half, the defenders got carried away with the attack and missed the swift lunge of the opponents, who drew a three-pass and scored from two meters. And at the last second there was an incident: the ball after a long pass by Eric Yakhimovich was headed into the goal by Victor Riveiro, but the referee's whistle sounded during the flight of the ball, and it was not counted.
Andrey Tveryankin: I had two options: either go out adventurously at random, or stand to the last, reacting to the blow. In my experience, I chose, of course, the second one. But the opponents played very competently.
The 5th match. The game with Lokomotiv did not solve anything in the distribution of seats and was held in an absolutely friendly atmosphere. We did not allow a strong opponent to create anything at our own goal, and Nikolai Smirnov scored a well–aimed shot in the attack - the ball hit exactly the left nine of the goal.
Nikolai Smirnov: I'm tired of running on this carpet, the pile is too long, I can't push off. But the blow turned out. In general: somewhere we lose, and somewhere we find.
Vladimir Dolbonosov: As expected, Dynamo is once again the strongest. For the sixth season in a row we take gold! We have a team of experienced players, three of them are winners of the Russian Cup in 1995. I emphasize discipline, there is no such thing as playing without a bench. The stability of high results also attracts loyal fans: fans support us in every round and today they shared the joy of victory with us. And finally, about the most important thing: these high-profile victories would not have happened without the serious care and support of the Dynamo veteran team from the management of FC Dynamo and VTB Bank.
