Previously, the specialist was a member of the coaching staff of the second team and worked as an assistant to Pavel Alpatov, who will continue his career in the main team.
Panchenko joined the Dynamo-2 staff in January 2025 after retiring from playing. While with the second team, he was involved in daily training sessions, team preparation for matches, and individual work with the players, particularly the attacking players.
Kirill Panchenko is well known to Dynamo fans. He played for Dynamo from 2016 to 2020. In the 2016/17 season, the forward became a key player on the team that won the FNL championship and returned to the Premier League, with Panchenko becoming the tournament's top scorer.
We wish Kirill Viktorovich success in his new role!
— I'm very honored and grateful that a club like Dynamo and its management have given me the chance to prove myself as head coach of the second team. There's a lot of work ahead, and I'm ready for it. My main goal is to develop young players for the main team.
— You spent a year and a half working on Pavel Alpatov's staff and have been appointed head coach. How prepared are you for this challenge?
— I understand very well that this is a very serious challenge for me. Many thanks to Pavel Alekseevich, who introduced me to coaching and welcomed me into his close-knit team. Over the past year and a half, I've learned a lot: how to plan training sessions, discuss tactical nuances, and much more. I have the foundation, now I need to improve. The goal is clear, and we need to work towards it.
— Dynamo fans remember you as a flamboyant attacking player. Will Dynamo-2's football be similar to what we saw you play?
— Of course, we'll try to make that happen. Football is, first and foremost, for the fans. The development of Dynamo-2's young players naturally implies attacking, vibrant football, which is what we've been striving for all these years. Pavel Alekseevich always encouraged us to play our best, and we'll try to continue that.
— One of your biggest critics in life is your father. How did he support you after your appointment?
— My father and I talked about this, and his words of encouragement are important to me. Of course, he was delighted with my rapid growth as a coach. I'm grateful to God that my career has unfolded the way it has. But this is just an appointment; there's a lot of work ahead for both me and the players.
— You've already held your first training session in your new role. What was that like?
— It was indescribable. There were times when I even felt lost during the drills, but after about 15 minutes, I realized I needed to calm that nervousness because the players are picking up on it. To their credit, they performed all the exercises with the necessary energy. We have a final-round match against Dynamo Kirov ahead of us. We need to focus on it and finish this season with a victory.
— What can you say to the fans who follow Dynamo-2 and support the team in the stands?
— Dynamo fans have a very warm attitude toward their club, and you can always hear them at all our games—both at home and throughout Russia. I think there will be a lot of them in Kirov, and I hope we'll delight them with our play. I promise it will be spectacular football. May they support us with the energy we always feel. Only Dynamo, only forward!
