Team status
In their second friendly, the blue-and-whites secured a 2-1 comeback victory over Paris Nizhny Novgorod, playing with two different lineups at halftime. The visitors took the lead in the first half thanks to a goal from Andrey Ivlev, and in the second 45 minutes, Anton Miranchuk scored twice from free kicks: first, the ball flew untouched into the far corner, and then, just in the final minutes, Nicolás Marichal headed in his free kick.
Meanwhile, Paraguay and Mexico ended their World Cup campaigns after losing in the Round of 16. Juan Cáceres had a fantastic tournament, starting all five matches and playing brilliantly against Kylian Mbappé. Luis Chávez played only 32 minutes of the entire tournament, in the opening match. Both Dynamo players will now take a well-deserved rest before returning to the club.
About the opponent
Last season, Orenburg changed its head coach midway through the first half of the season. Young coach Ildar Akhmetzyanov took over the team, which was in 14th place. Under his leadership, the Orenburg team managed to maintain its place in the Premier League, winning three of its five matches to finish 11th.
In the summer, a number of high-profile players left the team: Nikolai Sysuev, Irakli Kvekveskiri, Emircan Gürlük, Fahd Mufi, Stepan Oganesyan, and Pavel Gorelov. Eduardo Du Queiroz, Alexis Cantero, Tigran Avanesyan, and Anas El Mahraoui returned to their clubs after completing their loans, while Vladan Bubanya and Atsamaz Revazov went on loan.
For now, Akhmetzyanov is having to make do with his own reserves, as the only player currently joining the squad is Dynamo player Yegor Nazarenko, on a one-year loan with an option to buy. The 20-year-old midfielder spent last season with Spartak Kostroma, where he played 24 matches, scored four goals, and provided four assists.
"Yegor is a smart guy who absorbs everything as he goes. His desire and drive are evident, his sparkling eyes are shining, so we're very happy to have him with us. I hope that more new players will show up at the second training camp and strengthen our team," Akhmetzyanov noted.
The Orenburg team began their summer training camp in Kazan, where they lost to Neftekhimik (0-1) and beat Rubin (2-1) in friendly matches, after which they moved to the capital.
