He started his career as a striker, so when he was moved to midfield, he was distinguished by his explosive speed, a great shot with both feet and unique technique.

He finished his playing career in Dynamo Barnaul, after which he became a coach. He worked in the Dynamo system of children's and youth football in all subsequent years. He trained such players as Sergey Ovchinnikov, Lev Berezner, Vladimir Dolbonosov Jr., Andrey Dyatel and others.
