He was part of the legendary five forwards of Dynamo in the 1950s (Shabrov, Fedosov, Mamedov, Ilyin, Ryzhkin). A naturally gifted tall central striker with great talent. Fast, agile, physically developed, with good jumping ability, he read game episodes perfectly. He knew how to tune in to decisive matches, in which he scored winning goals.
He was distinguished by his tactical training and the speed of his decision-making. He was good at playing along, due to which he started the combinations of the white-blues in attack. He had a powerful shot with both feet, competently chose the moment to jump, due to which he played effectively with his head.
To the great regret of experts, he was not distinguished by his adherence to the regime and diligence in training, which is why he did not stay in big football longer than he potentially could. After finishing his career as a striker, he worked as a coach, but due to his soft character he could not cope with teams. After finishing football, he worked as a mechanic and then retired.
