He is considered one of the most outstanding strikers of the first post-war years. He was not distinguished by his physical strength, but thanks to his football intelligence, explosive runs, speed and striking technique, he became an outstanding forward. He is among the top ten Dynamo scorers of all time.
He opened up brilliantly in the penalty area and chose a position, freeing himself from the opponent's guard. Thanks to his special striking style, he made it impossible for goalkeepers to predict the trajectory of the ball. He showed his talent most clearly during counterattacks, acting as a reliable finisher of attacks at high speed.
After finishing his performances on the football field, he graduated from the coaching school at the State Central Physical Culture and Sport University and continued to work in the Dynamo clubs in Yaroslavl, Rostov-on-Don and Sverdlovsk. He finished his coaching career in Spartak Ryazan, after which he worked as a radio assembler at the Ryazan Radio Plant.
