The team's most valuable player in the mid-1950s. He made excellent openings and chose his position, creating scoring chances literally out of nothing. He was good at combination play. He had a powerful, well-placed shot with both feet. He was Dynamo's top scorer for several years, and never missed a penalty.
He was a versatile attacker, and could play in almost any position. He had an impeccable understanding of his teammates and his ability to read game episodes. He always found vulnerable spots in his opponents' defense, where he would open up in time and finish off attacks by scoring. He read the game of any goalkeeper, thanks to which he made practically unstoppable shots.
He ended his football career in 1960 at Dynamo Kirov, graduating from the School of Coaches. In the 1960s and 1970s, he worked as a coach and administrator for the white-blues, and in the 1980s and 1990s, in the children's and youth teams of the Dynamo system. He trained such players as Andrei Kobelev, Andrei Chernyshov, and Ravil Sabitov.
