One of the most talented Soviet football players of the late 1960s – early 1970s. He was one of the most technical forwards of his time, had an impeccable understanding of combination play, and possessed an extraordinary striking technique. He did not stand out for his physical abilities, was a rather “fragile” football player, but with his play in those years he made Dynamo’s attack the most dangerous.
He could beat half of the opposing team single-handedly thanks to his supernatural technique, but he preferred to create combinations with his partners. He was always the most creative player in attack, often played with his teammates, getting into scoring positions. He had a variable and accurate shot with both feet. Due to his physical weakness, he practically did not press or work in defense.
Unfortunately, he did not have good health and athleticism, so he ended his career quite early. Apart from the early period, his only club was Dynamo, so it is not surprising that in the following years he worked as a coach in the system of children's and youth football of the white-blues. He trained such players as Vasiliy Kulkov, Vladimir Beschastnykh, brothers Alexei and Oleg Morozov, Anton Shunin.
