One of the most productive Dynamo forwards of the 1960s. In contrast to his not very outstanding physical attributes, he had a phenomenal sense of goal and the ability to instantly orient himself near the opponent's goal, which allowed him to score decisive goals in not the most obvious situations. In 59 matches where Vshivtsev scored, the white-blues won 52 times with four draws and three defeats, which gives 92% of the points scored.
Now he would be called a classic central striker, the finisher of attacks. Most often, he scored after crosses from the flanks. He was distinguished by his rebound play, thanks to which he scored 20 goals. He did not have outstanding striking power, but he compensated for this shortcoming with exceptional accuracy. He was not tall (only 170 cm), but played superbly with his head due to his choice of position and his jumping ability. He has 18 headed goals, including 12 in the official matches. According to this indicator, Vshivtsev is among the top ten players in the history of the club.
He called himself a loyal Dynamo player, so after playing for the white-blues, he ended his career quite soon, playing only for CSKA, Dynamo Barnaul and Dynamo Vologda. After football, he went to work as a diplomatic courier in the USSR (later Russia) Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he worked until 2000, visiting 120 countries.
