Alexander Ovechkin set a record for goals in regular NHL championships

The Washington Capitals captain scored his historic 895th career goal in the second period of Sunday's match with the New York Islanders.

Alexander broke Wayne Gretzky's record (894), which has been held since 1999. It took Ovechkin 19.5 years and 1487 matches to do this. Gretzky played the same number of games in the regular NHL championships, but unlike him, the Dynamo Moscow graduate scored all his goals as part of the same club.

The pride of the country. The pride of hockey. The pride of Dynamo. Congratulations to the whole Ovechkin family on this incredible achievement!

In honor of the record, we released a special merch and a music video: the song was performed by rock musician and producer, lead singer of the Casual group, Dynamo fan Alexei Yashin and Violetta Dyadyura, the author of the idea and words was the editor-in-chief of Dynamo TV Ilya Shelogurov.
