The second newcomer of Dynamo in the winter transfer window was the midfielder of the Russian national team Danil Glebov. We tell you about the life and sports path of our new 15th issue.

Danil was born in Tomsk and was involved in football and table tennis in parallel as a child. His parents separated when he was 5 years old, and his grandfather played a big role in his upbringing, who helped his passion for football in every possible way.

At the Tomi training center, Glebov studied until the age of 15, when he met his future agent at a tournament in Sochi, who arranged for him to watch at Lokomotiv. As a result, Danil settled in a boarding school of the Moscow club, from where he was kicked out a year later because of a frivolous attitude to study.

— I spent a year at the Lokomotiv Academy, but they decided to expel me. Skipped school. It's a bit embarrassing now. It would be better to study. And then – very young, the wind in my head. I was given one warning, a second, a third. The fourth was the last. They said: you can continue playing football with us, but you won't live in a boarding school anymore, rent an apartment yourself," Glebov recalled in an interview with Sport24.

As a result, he had an option with Anzhi, and the promising midfielder went to Makhachkala when Suleiman Kerimov was still helping the team. From the Anzhi academy, he first got into the second team, and then at the age of 18 he made his debut with Magomed Adiev in the RPL. At the same time, Makhachkala residents started having problems with financing, and the players spent many months without a salary. Therefore, after the first part of the 2018/19 season, in which Danil entered the field in 10 matches, he went to Rostov. At the same time, he did not demand payment of the debt as a sign of respect for the club that gave him the way to big football.

— If the club itself reimburses the debt, of course, I will not refuse, but ask for something… I am grateful to Anzhi for the experience of playing in the Premier League," 19-year–old Danil said at the time. – I spent three years in Makhachkala. Passed the youth team, the Second league. After all this, I don't think it's right to demand money from a club that has faced such serious problems. I'll earn my own yet.

Such self-confidence, coupled with intransigence on the field and an unusual beard for a young man, earned him the nickname "mini-man". And it was given to Danil at his first training camp with the Rostovites by none other than Dmitry Skopintsev. Glebov managed to cross paths with another future Dynamo player, Sergei Parshivlyuk.

With his diligence, Glebov quickly gained the trust of Valery Karpin and a place in the starting lineup next to Roman Eremenko and Mathias Norman. In such conditions, the young midfielder began to make rapid progress, improved his work with the ball, position selection and active pressure – the signature card of Karpin's players.

He described his role on the field in the following words:: "I am a bulldog: tenacious, I can bite and grab somewhere. Doing the dirty work." In addition to one hundred percent return in training and in games, Glebov likes to review matches, analyzes individual moments and analyzes mistakes.

The year 2020 gave Danil a lot of bright events – this was the birth of his daughter (the midfielder was only 20 years old at that time), and his debut in European competitions, and the first goal for Rostov. In honor of this event, he promised to repaint his beard in club colors and kept his word: he came out with a yellow-blue beard for the match against Dynamo, and Rostov won a landslide victory.

A year later, Glebov played all three matches at the group stage of the European Youth Championship, where he performed together with Arsen Zakharyan, Konstantin Tyukavin and Denis Makarov.

— Tyukavin and Zakharyan showed themselves well in Dynamo, got into the youth national team, – Glebov spoke about his national team partners. – Guys, despite their age, are not afraid to play hard, to engage in martial arts. Few people can be as creative as they are.

Despite his youth, Danil tried on the Rostov captain's armband already at the age of 21 in the turbulent season-2021/22, when Karpin first left the team and the coaching leapfrog began, and in winter all the legionnaires left. Largely thanks to Glebov, the Rostov residents did not fall apart and finished ninth, and when Karpin returned next season they almost climbed onto the podium. The question of changing the captain was no longer raised, and Danil grew up to the main national team of the country, in which he is now one of the main players.
