The match of the 3rd round of the group stage of the Cup of Russia, held at VTB Arena, ended with a score of 3:0.
According to tradition, Sandro Schwartz almost completely changed the squad for the cup match, leaving only Ivan Sergeev at the forefront. However, Konstantin Tyukavin, who missed the derby with Lokomotiv due to damage, got into the application, and Daniil Fomin led the team to the field with the captain's armband.
Dynamo cheerfully started the match, spending almost all the time in the opponent's half of the field. However, the dense defense line of Akhmat, where the two-meter Kalidu Sidibe was constantly shifting, managed to unravel all the plans of the blue and white. So, the Grozny team managed to block two promising long–range strikes from Ulvi Babaev and Fomin, and with several good serves from Luis Chavez from the corners - not without difficulty, but they coped.
The guests periodically broke out and carried out good counterattacks. The first of the goalkeepers to enter the game was Igor Leshchuk, who fixed the ball with the second touch after a hidden strike by Galymzhan Kenzhebek. In the middle of the half, Egash Kasintura broke into the penalty area, beat Leshchuk, but let the ball go too far, and Dmitry Skopintsev managed to defuse the situation.
The end of the half remained for Dynamo. First, Chavez played a wall with Fomin and threw the ball with his head to Skopintsev, who shot past the goal in the fall. And in the 43rd minute Fomin won the single combat in the final third and brought Sergeev one–on-one with the goalkeeper - Vanya clearly sent the ball into the corner and scored his 24th goal in the Cup draws, repeating the record of Oleg Veretennikov and Alexander Sobolev.
After the break, Danil Glebov and Yaroslav Gladyshev entered the field, which took a little more than seven minutes to widen the gap in the score. Sergeev did a great job in the center and passed to Timofey Marinkin, who threw Gladyshev into the breakthrough – his first shot was deflected by Giorgi Shelia, and the second flew into the goal from the crossbar!
Grozny could have quickly returned to the game if Kasintura's shot from a favorable position went a little to the left, and so it was reflected by the bar, after which Leon Zaydenzal took the ball to the corner. Meanwhile, the exit of Bitello and Tyukavin refreshed the offensive line, and these permutations also brought results.
In the 79th minute Gladyshev found Tyukavin in the penalty area, who peeled off the defender and powerfully charged right into the far nine! After the third goal, the game calmed down, and the Muscovites confidently brought it to the third victory in a row.
Thus, Dynamo have bypassed Akhmat in the table and, after half of the group stage, take second place in group B. In the next match, blue and white will host Spartak on September 6. The latest tickets to VTB Arena can still be purchased on our website.
