The meeting of the 24th round of the Russian Premier League, held in Nizhny Novgorod, ended with a score of 1:1.
Before the most important cup meeting with CSKA, Marcel Licka went to rotate the squad, putting a young pair of Dmitry Alexandrov – Egor Smelov in the center of the field. The left flank was occupied by Eli Dasa and Arthur, and this time El-Mehdi Maouhoub was at the forefront of the attack.
Already in the first minutes, Bitello almost brought the Moroccan striker one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but Vadim Lukyanov, who made his debut in the RPL, was ahead of him for a moment. In the return attack, Vyacheslav Grulev, who played against his native club for the first time, made the first shot at Andrei Lunev's goal – it turned out very inaccurately.
Dynamo seized the advantage and spent most of the time in positional attacks, while Nizhny Novgorod used the tactics of a minor foul. In the 17th minute, Bitello made a cross from the corner, Fabian Balbuena won the aerial duel and sent the ball to the corner, from where it was cleared by Alexander Ektov.
The second part of the first half was spent mainly in duels, in which Alexandrov and Jorge Carrascal earned a yellow card. The hosts had a good moment after the corner, when Sven Karic shot over the crossbar from close range.
During the break, Nicolas Ngamaleu, the author of the winning goal in the first round match, replaced Smelov. From the very beginning of the second half, the blue and white team besieged the opponent's penalty area, has several set pieces, but the Nizhny Novgorod team continued to successfully defend. In the 55th minute, Yaroslav Gladyshev entered the game due to injury of Arthur, who was carried off the field on a stretcher.
And then the hosts earned a corner in a rare attack and took the lead: Juan Boselli shot into the penalty area, the ball flew through the stockade of legs, and Alexander Troshechkin brought it into the goal from a meter.
Soon, following the double substitution, Daniil Fomin and Luis Chavez entered the field. With one of his first touches, the Mexican midfielder, after drawing the set piece, shot into the penalty area, the ball bounced to Gladyshev, and he hit the far nine with his left kick and ricochet from the defender – 1:1.
The remaining time passed under the full control of the blue and whites, intending to snatch victory. The goalkeeper of Pari NN did not easily cope with the dense shots of Gladyshev, Chavez and Fomin. And already in the added time, the hosts also got their chance – after the cross into the penalty area, the ball hit Alexander Kutitskiy's hand, and the referee awarded a penalty. Fortunately, Thiago Vesino hit the bar, and Lunev already managed to make a save after a rebound strike by Nikita Ermakov.
Dynamo scored 43 points and occupy the fifth place in the standings. Next week we will celebrate the birthday of our club at home games with CSKA (April 16) and Rubin (April 20).
