Dynamo Moscow head coach Valery Karpin answered journalists' questions after the derby with Lokomotiv (3:5).
— After this game, do you think this pair of central defenders is stronger than the others available? And do you think that at the moment Andrei Lunev is stronger than Kurban Rasulov?
— If we talk after this game, not taking into account how the game develops and how goals are scored, then maybe you are right. If you look because of whom or because of what the second, third, fourth goals were scored, then you need to draw conclusions. The problem is not in the central defenders – that's for sure. Individual errors need to be sorted out. If we talk about the game, then if you look at it first, and then at the scoreboard, then something doesn't add up. Especially if we take the first half, after which the score should have been different. But these are all words, the final score on the scoreboard.
— You had only two substitutions until the 75th minute. Have you been satisfied with the game up to this point?
— Yes, the game was satisfying in principle. Plus, we need to see who can come out and strengthen the game, and who is not quite ready yet.
— In the first half, Dynamo created a lot of chances. Why was it not possible to maintain this pace in the second half?
— A lot of factors affect the pace: a break in the break, the second goal conceded affected psychologically. You can find many reasons, it does not change the essence. If we had continued to play like this in the second half, then maybe the result would have been different. Although even such a game in the first half did not lead to a positive result. The opponent also makes adjustments during the game, this needs to be analyzed with a fresh head.
