Karpin: "Tyukavin has not yet reached the optimal shape, so we are dosing the playing time"

Dynamo Moscow head coach Valery Karpin answered journalists' questions after the match with Akhmat (2:2).

— At the beginning of the game, Dynamo controlled the ball, scored a goal, and it seemed like the match would end in an easy victory. But then everything changed, and in some places the players didn't know what to do with the ball. What happened?

— We started the game normally, everything was under control. Then we made another assist, and now we had a throw-in. After that, everything went wrong. We suffered a psychological blow. Yes, we should have kept playing, but when this happens over and over again, it's obviously hard on the guys.

— How did you like Kurban Rasulov's RPL debut? Can he compete for a starting spot?

— I think so. He was minimally responsible for the goals conceded, if any at all.

— Dynamo had more possession throughout the match, but the key moments only began to arise after Konstantin Tyukavin came on. Was it possible to bring him on earlier?

— There was an opportunity, but whether he would have lasted longer on the field is questionable. He's not yet in top form, so we're rationing his playing time. The same goes for Gladyshev.

— How would you comment on the referee's decision to award a penalty against you? It was clear you were unhappy with it.

— I was also unhappy in the game against Lokomotiv, where there was also a slight touch. Even the ESC admitted there wasn't a penalty. I don't know what they'll admit this time, but I don't think there was one here either. I don't see the point in talking about it. What I didn't like more was this: first, Miranchuk gets injured, lies on the ground, and the referee doesn't blow the whistle, and then, in the incident with Melkadze, he blows the whistle. Either you always blow the whistle or you never blow the whistle, and these interpretations are unclear. I was even more unhappy with that.

— How serious is Anton Miranchuk's injury?

— At best, we'll find out tomorrow, when his ankle has cooled down.

— Why was Bakhtiyor Zaynutdinov substituted at half-time?

— He played two games with the national team and today felt discomfort in his groin, so he had to be replaced.

— Dynamo has a tough Cup match against Krylia Sovetov ahead of them, and then a trip to St. Petersburg. Daniil Fomin received his fourth yellow card, and it's unclear whether Miranchuk will play. Have you already put the pieces together in your head, what lineup you'll be playing with on Wednesday?

— It's too early to put the pieces together. It often happens that when you think about the next game or the game after that, nothing comes together. So first, we need to see what's wrong with Miranchuk, and then decide on the lineup for the upcoming match.

— Yesterday, a journalist addressed Mikhail Galaktionov by his first name, and he asked me to address him by his patronymic. If they addressed you by your first name only, how would you feel about that?

— After Spain, I'm used to being addressed by my first name without my patronymic. So I'd be fine with that.
