On April 23, the fifth tournament in memory of Honored Doctor of Russia Alexander Eduardovich Yardoshvili was held at the Dynamo football club in Novogorsk.
This year's tournament was organized by the Medical Expert Council under the President of the RPL and Dynamo. It was attended by employees of the medical staffs of Dynamo, Lokomotiv, CSKA and Rodina, as well as the teams of the Moscow Spinal Neurosurgical Center, the Priorov Medical Research Center and the Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Joint Venture.
The winners of the tournament were representatives of Dynamo, who beat multiple winners of the tournament from CITO in the finals. The third place was taken by CSKA employees.
– In my opinion, such tournaments are very important, and they contribute not only to preserving the memory of well-known people in the professional community, but also contribute to the consolidation of a large number of specialists responsible for the medical and biological support of Russian football. Our club gladly responded to the proposal from the RPL to hold this tournament and I am sure it has become a holiday for all its participants," said Mikhail Butovsky, director of the Dynamo Medical Department.
Alexander Eduardovich has worked in sports for more than 40 years. In addition to Dynamo, Yardoshvili was the chief physician at Chernomorets Odessa, Lokomotiv Moscow, CSKA and the Russian national team.
