In the final match of the tournament, held in Houston, USA, the Mexican national team beat the USA with a score of 2:1.
Blue and whites midfielder Luis Chavez took part in two matches of the group stage of the tournament, after which he suffered a rupture of the cruciate ligament of his right knee during training and underwent surgery.
This is the third title of the 29-year-old midfielder in the national team. In 2023, he won his first Gold Cup, and in March of this year he became the winner of the CONCACAF Nations League.
