On Friday, Nikolai Tolstykh, adviser to the chairman of the Dynamo Society, celebrates his anniversary.
Nikolai Alexandrovich at the age of 11 got into the Dynamo football school, which he successfully graduated from and at the age of 21 made his debut in the main team in the USSR championship. Playing in defense and midfield, he stood out for his mobility and endurance, always acted with full dedication and strictly observed game discipline. In total, Tolstykh played 144 matches for the main squad and scored 6 goals.
In 1983, due to a serious injury, he was forced to end his career and moved to an administrative position in the Moscow City Council of Dynamo. In the late 80s he was the head of the main team, and in the 90s and early 2000s – the general director and president of the club. Under his leadership, the blue and white have repeatedly won the Russian Championship and won the National Cup.
He was also the president of the Professional Football League, was a member of the UEFA Professional Football Committee, and from 2012 to 2015 headed the Russian Football Union. Since 2020, he has been working in the management of the Dynamo Society.
He was awarded the Order of Honor and the medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree.
