On Tuesday, the best scorer of Dynamo in the Russian championships Oleg Terekhin turns 55 years old.

Oleg Ivanovich was born on August 12, 1970 in the city of Engels in the Saratov region, where he began playing football. Since childhood, he dreamed of becoming a forward, but at first the coaches of the local team "Iskra" put him in midfield. Later, he was transferred to the attack, where he played his entire career.

At the age of 18, Terekhin moved to Mariupol, where he spent eight months in the local "Novator". After that, he returned to Saratov and began playing for "Sokol". For four years, he defended the colors of the Saratov club, where he showed himself brilliantly, scoring more than 70 goals and getting on the radar of not only the leading teams of the Russian championship, but also European clubs - in particular, the Austrian "Austria".

In the end, Terekhin chose "Dynamo", which was coached by the legendary Beskov. Konstantin Ivanovich's authority was so high for Oleg Ivanovich that it became a decisive factor in choosing a club.

- Right after Austria, I received an offer from Dynamo. They tried to persuade me at Austria: stay here. But what Austria? Let's get to Moscow first. The decisive factor in my choice was that the head coach of Dynamo was Konstantin Ivanovich Beskov. A man who does not need any special recommendations. A colossus of the domestic coaching community, - said Terekhin.

It was at Dynamo that the forward's talent was revealed most vividly. Oleg Ivanovich was distinguished by his dash, speed of decision-making, technique and a powerful strike with both feet. He was always aimed at the goal, had an excellent scoring instinct and instantly responded to rebounds in the opponent's penalty area. He also had excellent jumping ability and choice of position, so he played wonderfully with his head.

As part of the white-blues, Terekhin spent his best years - over five seasons, he took part in 179 matches, in which he scored 79 goals, 67 of which were in the Russian championship, which remains an unattainable result to this day. With Dynamo, he twice reached the final of the Russian Cup (1997, 1999), won bronze in the championship (1997), and was also included in the list of "33 best football players of the country" for three years in a row (1997-1999).

- Yes, I was doing very well in this team. I had excellent partners: Andrei Kobelev, Denis Klyuev, Vlad Radimov, Konstantin Golovskoy, Nikolai Pisarev, Ravil Sabitov... Good goalkeepers - Dmitry Tyapushkin, Andrei Smetanin, Dmitry Kramarenko. I think the team was a masterpiece! I had enough playing time, I scored a lot, everything worked out, - Oleg Ivanovich recalled.

As a Dynamo player, Terekhin received a call-up to the Russian national team, but he played only one game for the national team, coming on as a substitute in the 60th minute of a friendly match with Spain (September 23, 1998).

After Dynamo, he played for Lokomotiv, Kuban, Chernomorets, Terek and other Russian clubs. During this time, he won the Russian Cup three times, became a silver medalist in the national championship, and also entered the "Club of 100 Russian bombers" (26th place with 110 goals).

After hanging up his boots in 2007, Terekhin took up coaching and became a scout. In recent years, he headed the youth football development program at Krasnodar's Kuban.
