Exactly 90 years ago, the first official derby took place under the banner of Dynamo – Spartak, which marked the beginning of one of the most significant confrontations in domestic football. We decided to remember those who managed to leave a noticeable mark in both clubs.
On August 6, 1935, in the match of the final round of the Moscow spring Championship, Dynamo won 2-0 thanks to goals by Vasily Pavlov and Sergei Lapshin, ahead of the red and white in the final table.
The legendary Mikhail Yakushin also played in that match, and Alexander Kvasnikov defended the blue and white gates, who would later become the USSR champion, first as part of Dynamo, and then Spartak. Below we will tell you about all the players who have played at least 50 matches for both clubs.
13. Vadim Pavlenko (67 matches and 21 goals for Dynamo, 52 matches and 18 goals for Spartak)
The Dynamo graduate powerfully broke into big football, becoming the second scorer of the USSR championship at the age of 19. Having scored 16 goals in his debut season, Pavlenko entered the list of "33 best players of the season" and earned the title of "Debutant of the season". The second season did not start so brightly, and in the summer he also suffered a severe meniscus injury and was out for a year. In the 1976 championship season, the forward appeared only twice as a substitute.
Pavlenko went to Konstantin Beskov in Spartak to restart his career and helped the team return to the Top League with his 14 goals. But he failed to prove himself in the elite division again. After briefly returning to Dynamo in 1979, he moved to Dnipro, and then finished his career at Spartak Kostroma at the age of 27.

12. Roman Zobnin (53 matches and 2 goals for Dynamo, 275 matches and 20 goals for Spartak)
Dynamo scouts noticed the talented midfielder in 2013, when he played for the Togliatti Academy in the Second League. At the age of 19 he made his debut in the RPL, in the 2014/15 season he has already played 15 matches and played in European competitions for the first time - in the first match of the 1/8 finals of the Europa League against Napoli, he earned a red card at the very beginning of the second half, and Dynamo lost with a score of 1:3. In the disastrous 2015/16 season, he became the main player of the starting lineup, missing only one championship game.
After the team's departure from the RPL, Zobnin moved to Spartak and became the champion of Russia in the very first season. The current season has become his tenth anniversary as part of the red and white. Behind him is the victory in the Cup and Super Cup of Russia, the title of "Gentleman of 2018" and fifty matches as the captain of Spartak.
11. Ivan Konov (61 matches and 41 goals for Dynamo, 85 matches and 32 goals for Spartak)
He started his career at Dynamo from Korolev near Moscow, but gained fame as a striker of Spartak Moscow, making his debut in the national championship in a derby with blue and white. Twice in a row he became the winner of the USSR Cup, having distinguished himself, including in the 1946 finals.
In 1949 he joined Dynamo and immediately became the champion, as well as the second scorer of the tournament with 23 goals. He successfully played two more seasons as part of the blue and white, after which he ended his career due to a serious injury. He worked as a coach and even became the silver medalist of the Iranian championship with the Persepolis club.

10. Alexander Samedov (78 matches and 10 goals for Dynamo, 113 matches and 15 goals for Spartak)
The pupil of Spartak made his debut in the RPL at the age of 18, but it was not easy to become a solid player of the starting lineup. As a result, he moved to Lokomotiv, winning his first trophy with him – the Cup of Russia. In the final, Moscow was beaten, which became a new home for Alexander a year later.
So Dynamo for Samedov was already the fourth Moscow club, and there his talent really revealed itself: 10 goals and 19 assists in two seasons. The extreme midfielder was an integral part of the "magical summer and autumn" of 2011. Then there were returns to Lokomotiv and Spartak, with which he became the champion and winner of the Russian Super Cup.
9. Vadim Ivanov (158 matches and 5 goals for Dynamo, 87 matches and 2 goals for Spartak
The central defender studied football basics in Krasnoyarsk and at the age of 18 got into Dynamo. In the winning season of 1963, he played two matches, and became a full-fledged player of the starting lineup two years later. In 1967, he won the USSR Cup with the team, having played all six matches in their entirety.
In 1969, he moved to Spartak, with which he also became the champion and winner of the National Cup. After finishing his career, he worked as a coach in several Dynamo teams, including Moscow, and even for several months was the head coach of the blue and white.

8. Kirill Kombarov (115 matches and 8 goals for Dynamo, 95 matches and 2 goals for Spartak)
Until the age of 14, Kirill and his twin brother Dmitry studied at the Spartak school, but then, due to a conflict with the coach, they moved to the Dynamo school. And already in our team, both have grown to the level of the Premier League. For four seasons, Kirill closed the right side, adding 16 assists to 8 goals.
In 2010, together with his brother, he returned to Spartak, but as the main player he spent, in fact, one transitional season there. Then there were "Torpedo", "Tom" and 4 years in the Tula Arsenal. Kirill has not played a single match for the main Russian national team.
7. Sergey Parshivlyuk (110 matches and 1 goal for Dynamo, 173 matches and 3 goals for Spartak)
The first player on our list with 100+ matches for both clubs. Sergey spent 20 years in the red-and-white system, in 2007 he made his debut in the RPL in a match with Zenit, was the captain of the team and won the silver medals of the Russian championship three times. In the 2015/16 season, against the background of a conflict with Dmitry Alenichev, he moved to Anzhi, and later ended up in Rostov, where he played under the guidance of Valery Karpin.
In 2019, he moved to Dynamo and quickly earned the trust of the fans with his selfless game. In five seasons, he helped the team win bronze medals twice and reach the Cup final, which he entered with the captain's armband. Now Sergey is helping Karpin already as a coach.

6. Alexander Minaev (256 matches and 28 goals for Dynamo, 113 matches and 10 goals for Spartak)
The hardy midfielder was a pupil of Spartak, where he spent the first four seasons of his adult career. But he achieved the main successes by moving to Dynamo in 1976. In the first year he won the gold of the USSR championship, the European Youth Championship and the bronze of the Olympic Games.
Then there was a victory in the USSR Cup and 256 matches in 9 seasons – according to this indicator, he ranks 15th in the history of our club. After the end of his career, he coached children's and youth teams of the Dynamo sports school, as well as the blue and white double.
5. Boris Pozdnyakov (116 matches and 5 goals for Dynamo, 196 matches and 5 goals for Spartak)
Another red-and-white pupil, after five seasons in the main team, moved to Dynamo, where he spent 4 years, during which a six-month voyage to Torpedo squeezed in. Then he returned to Spartak, where he became the champion of the USSR. After the collapse of the union, he left to play in Austria, but began his coaching career in his homeland at the end of the 90s.
From 2009 to 2011, at Spartak, he was a member of Karpin's coaching staff, who called Pozdnyakov the best personal care specialist in the country. Since 2014, he has been training young defenders at the Red and White Academy.

4. Sergey Salnikov (126 matches and 33 goals for Dynamo, 227 matches and 78 goals for Spartak)
A native of Krasnodar in childhood, his family moved to Tarasovka near Moscow, so it's hardly worth saying where Salnikov started his football career. During the war, he played for Zenit, and it was his goal that brought the St. Petersburg team their first title in history – the 1944 USSR Cup. He won the next two Cups already as part of his native team.
In 1950, he moved to Dynamo, with which he won his fourth Cup, again scoring the winning goal in the final, and then the first gold of the championship. After five seasons in the blue and white team, he returned to Spartak, where he finished his career, having managed to win two more championships, take the fifth Cup and gold of the Olympic Games in Melbourne.
3. Dmitry Kombarov (155 matches and 14 goals for Dynamo, 274 matches and 27 goals for Spartak)
Dmitry made his debut in the Dynamo main team a year before his brother, playing on the opposite left flank, and managed to play 40 more matches. His career at Spartak turned out to be an order of magnitude more successful than Kirill's – almost three hundred matches in 9 years, including fifty games as captain, championship and Super Bowl, as well as 46 games for the Russian national team. He graduated from his career at the same time as his brother in the summer of 2021.

2. Yuri Kovtun (194 matches and 6 goals for Dynamo, 175 matches and 8 goals for Spartak)
One of the toughest and most uncompromising defenders of the 90s and early 2000s started his career in Rostov-on-Don, playing for SKA and Rostselmash. In 1993, he ended up at Dynamo, where he booked the position of left back for six seasons, won the Russian Cup, silver and two bronze medals.
For the next six years, he defended the red and white colors, becoming national champion three times. It is noteworthy that in both clubs he played 10 matches with the captain's armband, but there were more yellow and red cards in his Spartak career – 63 and 7 against 56 and 6, respectively. In the 2016/17 season, he helped Yuri Kalitvintsev return Dynamo to the RPL.

1. Alexander Bubnov (258 matches and 9 goals for Dynamo, 217 matches and 4 goals for Spartak)
Another pupil of the Rostov sports International first tried on the red and white colors of the Vladikavkaz Spartak, after which he got into Dynamo. For eight years, the defender has played 258 matches (14th place in the history of the club), became the champion of the USSR, the winner of the Cup and the Super Cup of the country, as well as the winner of the European Youth Championship.
In 1983, he joined Spartak Beskov and won two more gold medals of the championship. In the 90s he began his coaching career, and in the 2000s he was one of the most popular experts and analysts in Russian football.
— I played in two great clubs, passed through the hands of outstanding specialists – Yashin, Kachalin, Sevidov, Tsarev, Simonyan, Beskov, the Starostin brothers. I am convinced that if I had not come into contact with these people, I would not have understood the importance of Dynamo and Spartak for the country, I would not have been able to express myself in football. I have gained knowledge that today gives me the full moral right to analyze the game and evaluate the processes taking place in Russian football," said Alexander Viktorovich.
