Daniil Fomin
Daniil Fomin scored his second consecutive brace in Sunday's game against CSKA and became the eighth football player of the White-Blues who managed to do it in Russian history. We recall the previous similar achievements of the Dynamo scorers.
Viktor Leonenko – 1992 season (5 matches and 5 goals for Dynamo)
The native of Tyumen joined the team during the last year of the USSR existence and scored a quadruple in his fifth match against Lokomotiv. Dynamo started the next season avalanching their opponents and secured three defeats in the first four rounds. Leonenko took a direct part in it. On April 8, he made a hat-trick against Fakel and became the first football player in the history of the Russian championships to do it. In the next game, Viktor scored twice against Tekstilshchik, and then left for Dynamo Kyiv.
Veli Kasumov – 1992 season (25 matches, 19 goals)
The Azerbaijani striker Kasumov followed in the footsteps of Leonenko. He immediately adapted in the team and scored a hat-trick against Uralmash in his second match. As a result, he became the top scorer of the White-Blues that season putting 19 goals on his account, four of which he scored against KAMAZ and Rostselmash in two consecutive matches.
Dmitry Cheryshev – 1993 season (26 matches, 8 goals)
Kasumov left for Spain after the 1992 season, and a young centre-forward Cheryshev joined the team from Lokomotiv Nizhny Novgorod. His goalscoring talent has been revealed towards the end of the season, when Dmitry scored in four consecutive matches of the Russian top flight. Two Far Eastern teams suffered the most from the Dynamo top scorer: Cheryshev scored two goals against Okean, and three – against Luch.

Oleg Teryokhin – 1995 season (31 matches, 14 goals)
In 1995, Oleg Teryokhin moved to Dynamo from Saratov. He became the top scorer of the White-Blues in his first season in the top tier, having scored two braces in five days against Ararat (in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup) and Uralmash (in the Russian championship). Teryokhin scored 79 goals in five seasons at Dynamo Moscow, being the fourth in the club's history top scorers’ table.
Ognjen Koroman – 2003 season (14 matches, 6 goals)
Dynamo started the 2003 season with three consecutive wins under the stewardship of Viktor Prokopenko. The team earned excellent results without one of their leaders — Koroman missed those matches due to disqualification at the end of the previous season. The Serbian international returned to the pitch in the fourth round, and a month later made braces in two brightest matches – against Uralan (5:1, away) and Zenit (7:1, home).
Kirill Panchenko – 2016/17 season (37 matches, 25 goals)
Kirill started his career at our club with a brace against Tyumen, then scored two goals against Baltika two rounds later, and finally upset Tambov and SKA-Khabarovsk by making braces in September 2016. In total, the forward registered seven braces and one hat-trick throughout the season.
Maximilian Philipp – 2019/20 season (21 matches, 7 goals)
The German attacking midfielder also made a bright start in the Russian Premier League, scoring in his first two matches against Lokomotiv and Tambov. He scored all Dynamo goals in games against Rostov and Lokomotiv, which ended by the same score 2:1. At the same time, Philipp converted three penalties.
Daniil Fomin – 2021/22 season (3 matches, 4 goals)
Daniil managed to do the same at the beginning of this season. He converted two penalties against his former teammate Alexander Belenov, and then repeated upset actions against Igor Akinfeev – firstly, Fomin delivered the ball into the net from the penalty spot, and then succeeded on rebound after CSKA goalkeeper’s save. At the moment, Fomin is joint top among Premier League best scorers alongside with Sardar Azmoun and Alexander Erokhin.
At least 17 players scored two goals in two consecutive matches in Soviet history of Dynamo. Vasily Kartsev managed to do it 5 times, three times in the championship of 1945, when Dynamo won their fourth title. Alexey Ponomaryov (in 1937), Vladimir Savdunin (1949) and Konstantin Beskov (1950) were the only ones to make braces in three consecutive encounters.
Fomin can join this list on Saturday, when Dynamo will play against Akhmat in Grozny.
