Pavel Pivovarov: "We are glad that BetBoom Dynamo Global Challenge attracts attention"

— Tell us about the idea of creating the BetBoom Dynamo Global Challenge tournament.

— Since 2022, Dynamo management has been monetizing the calendar, and we hold commercial matches on free dates. It all started with the game against Amkal, after which we met with media teams several times, held the Fraternal Cup three times with the participation of CSKA and, twice, Serbian teams.

Now, for the first time, we are entering the territory of winter training camps, where, together with our long-term title sponsor, BetBoom, we are holding an international tournament. We are glad that it attracts attention. I think it will strengthen the relationship between Russian and Chinese fans, and in general between the countries. We have a line of commercial partnerships with Chinese companies – Changan, Dreame and Huawei. 

— There are often surprises in Dynamo commercial matches – star fans, veterans, even labubu took the field. Should I expect something like that this time?

— I will not shock anyone. The tournament is built into the fees, so we refused such experiments and limited ourselves to active promotion in the digital environment. Our ambassadors will take part in it – Chinese blogger and singer Kai Sin is here, and Victoria Lopyreva will also be at the game, so there will be enough media coverage without the invasion of labuba. Coaches will be able to safely set up those compositions that they consider optimal for training.

— Tell us about the decision to retain Rolan Gusev as the team's head coach.

— As you know, Rolan Gusev was appointed head coach until the end of the season. He is a product of the club's youth system and a promising coach with great potential, and we are counting on him, including in the long term. By mutual decision, a coaching staff was formed that will lead the team to achieve sporting results.

— Could Sergei Parshivlyuk have remained with the club?

— We offered Sergei another opportunity to stay, discussing coaching positions in other areas, but he is an ambitious professional and wanted to move on. We parted on good terms.

— Denis Makarov was sent to the second team. What awaits him next?

— I will not comment on Denis Makarov's statements. It was his initiative to do so. The club then made a legally justified decision in accordance with his contract. His contract expires soon, so we expect some action on his part. I hope they will be agreed upon with the club and will benefit its future.

— There were rumors that Valeriy Gazzaev might join the club. How can you comment on this?

— Valeriy Georgievich is a figurehead in our football. He has etched his name in the history of Russian football, playing and working for Dynamo. Therefore, by decision of the chairman of the advisory board, Valeriy Gazzaev will soon join this body and help us address strategic development issues.

— Please comment on the first transfer of 2026 – the signing of David Ricardo.

— In the first half of the season, we had problems conceding a high number of goals. This may have been due to tactics and physical preparation. Among other things, we focused on the need to strengthen our defense. Following the decision of the sporting section, approved by the club's management, we looked for options to strengthen the central defender position. We believe we have found a worthy candidate.

David has good physical attributes and demonstrated excellent performances last season in the Brazilian Championship. We negotiated promptly with our colleagues at Botafogo and reached an agreement fairly quickly. We are very hopeful that David will help our team achieve its sporting objectives. We want this season to be a positive one for Dynamo, as we still have a chance to win a trophy.

— When will Dmitry Skopintsev join the team?

— We are in touch with him. The reason for his absence is technical; the club will look into this matter and conduct an internal investigation. We hope that he will arrive at the training camp in the coming days.
