Pavel Pivovarov, CEO of Dynamo Moscow, answered questions from journalists and fans during a press conference dedicated to the appointment of Valery Karpin as the club's head coach.
– Are there any fears that after the return of the Russian national team to the international arena, Valery Karpin will leave the club?
– The combination has its own nuances. It is clear that Valery Georgievich's main place of work is the Russian national team. Accordingly, the procedure of coordination with the Russian Football Union on the combination of work in our club was completed – and it was completed successfully. When the national team returns to official competitions, the RFU has the right to withdraw such consent.
– How much time will Dynamo have to resolve the issue of the head coach's recall?
– This issue really caused us the main concerns, because we work in cycles. Our cycles are the seasons – and we, of course, are interested in not interrupting this cycle. An agreement has been reached with the RFU that the consent will not be withdrawn before the start of official matches. If a decision is made, and it is always made in advance, then we will know in advance the date when this issue will be raised.
– Do you plan to somehow monetize the story of the fact that Valery Karpin is now the head coach of Dynamo? Maybe there will be some new merch, T-shirts, souvenirs, events?
– We will definitely be engaged in the monetization of all assets. You can see it by the way we work in terms of celebrity marketing. However, Valery Georgievich's main task is to train the team, everything else will be the second priority.
– There is a match with the media team ahead. What are the expectations of playing with 2Drots?
– The game with the media team was planned before the appointment of Valery Georgievich. This is a project that the club has been implementing for a long time. First of all, it is working with the audience. As for the sports side, this will really be the first game of the pre-season, we planned it in advance. The second point is that this team has been eliminated from the playoffs of the Media League and now, for three weeks, it has been preparing for our match. Therefore, we expect that the resistance level will be normal for us.
– Then the BetBoom Fraternal Cup will be held, and the same teams will play in it for the second year in a row. What do you expect from this tournament? Were there any other teams that could take part in it?
– This is a pre-season tournament related to the preparation of the team for the season. He has a title sponsor, has his own economy. Actually, we started from this economy when choosing rivals. We had ideas to invite teams from other countries, teams with more status, but this was due to other expenses. Accordingly, in the form in which the tournament is now, it turns out with a positive economy – both for the team and for the club.
– Can you reveal at least one team that could take part in this tournament?
– We are not ready to disclose. We have plans for the development of this tournament, and we will postpone all promising ideas until the implementation stage. Then we'll tell you about them.
– A question regarding the relocation of the guest sector. Is it true that in the new season the guest fans will be located at the top of the C stand?
– This is a technical issue of interaction with the stadium and law enforcement agencies. There is such an idea, but it will take some time to implement this project. If this happens, it will not be from the beginning of the season. It turns out that the most prominent places are allocated for the guest stand, which allows guest fans to arrange super performances with us. As the leaders of the club, of course, we don't like it. We would like the stadium to support our club more, as it happens in all other arenas. Therefore, this project is still under implementation, I will not name the exact dates.
