The long-awaited newcomer of the blue and whites 22-year-old winger Maximiliano Gutierrez signed a contract with our club until the summer of 2031. We present the football path of the player of the national team of Chile.
Maximiliano was born on May 3, 2004, in the small Chilean town of Chiguayante, where he and his older brother Joaquín spent their childhoods playing street soccer. Later, both joined the academy of Huachipato — a club that has won the Chilean league title twice —based in a neighboring city. It is worth noting that the club's next two major trophies would be directly linked to the Gutiérrez brothers.
Maximiliano worked his way up to the first team by age 18, making his debut in 2022 and playing six matches. However, he did not immediately secure a regular spot on the right flank, where he faced competition that included his own brother. He spent the following year with the youth team, winning the national championship and playing in the U-20 Copa Libertadores, where he scored both of his team's goals.
Meanwhile, Joaquín won the league title with the senior squad and headed to the Olympic qualifying tournament. Maximiliano got another chance to prove himself with the first team and seized it fully: he played 38 matches in the 2024 season, scored four goals, made his debut in the senior Copa Libertadores, and netted his first goal in that competition against Estudiantes.
Later, he and his brother frequently took the field together, covering the entire right flank—both are capable of playing in either defensive or attacking roles. Maximiliano continued to progress in 2025, recording 35 matches, seven goals, three assists, and his first trophy. In the Copa Chile playoffs, he tallied four goals and three assists, and converted a penalty in the shootout during the final.

In the autumn of 2025, Gutiérrez made it to the Chilean senior national team: he debuted against Brazil in September, scored his first goal against Peru in October, and in November traveled to Sochi, where he crossed paths with his future teammates Daniil Fomin, Konstantin Tyukavin, and Ivan Sergeyev during a friendly match against Russia.
In February 2026, Maximiliano took a step up in his career by joining the Argentine giants Independiente on loan. Over the course of six months, the agile, speedy Chilean won over the local fans, scoring four goals and providing two assists in 17 matches.
Incidentally, Dynamo will now feature a player who has scored against none other than Vozinha! In March, Chile defeated Cape Verde 4–2; in the 58th minute, Gutiérrez dribbled past the Cape Verdean goalkeeper — who had strayed far from his goal and was not yet the star he would later become — and chipped the ball into the empty net from 30 meters out.
The first Chilean in the club's history now joins Dynamo’s Latin American contingent, which already includes four Brazilians, two Paraguayans, a Uruguayan, and a Mexican. We wish him the best of luck and plenty of goal contributions!
