— The derby is always a tension and pressure that everyone feels. Probably, a draw would have been a fairer outcome of the match with CSKA, but this does not negate the fact that the opponent deserved his success, – Dejan Stankovic said after the match. – And we have another chance ahead of us – in the Cup, and there is also a derby waiting for us there. Now it is important to recover and show how strong we are to finish the season with dignity.

In the Cup draw, Spartak players lost in the quarterfinals of the RPL Path to Rostov, after which they knocked out Akron (3:2) and Ural (3:0) already out of the Path of the regions. Christopher Martins unexpectedly became the real leader of the team, scoring 4 goals in these matches and leading the race of tournament scorers with 6 goals (Sergey Pinyaev and Timur Suleymanov have the same number).
