Team status
In the previous round, Dynamo failed to realize their chances and lost in the CSKA derby with a score of 1:3. The only goal from the penalty spot was scored by Jorge Carrascal, who broke the personal goalscoring record in one season – seven goals in all tournaments.
Milan Majstorovic, Roberto Fernandez and Konstantin Tyukavin remain in the infirmary of the team.
About the opponent
In winter, Nizhny Novgorod conducted a large–scale transfer campaign: Yaroslav Krashevsky and Colombian Juan Castillo were signed in the defense line, and Dynamo graduate Vyacheslav Grulev was signed in the attack. In addition, CSKA defender Ilya Agapov, Krasnodar forward Alexander Koksharov and Veles Sarsfield striker Thiago Vesino were leased.
Three of them made their debut in the first spring match, and the goals of Grulev and Koksharov brought victory to Nizhny Novgorod over Akron (2:1). But after that, Viktor Gancharenko's team suffered four consecutive defeats and dropped into the play–off zone with the worst goal difference in the league - 18:43. Moreover, they lost the last two matches to direct competitors Khimki and Orenburg.
– We have a bad series, which does not add optimism to anyone. After defeats, it is very difficult to restore the team from the ashes and bring it to the next match. Good things are quickly forgotten. We had good games with Krasnodar and Rubin, where, nevertheless, we did not score points. And now the bad matches have arrived. The main moment now is to bring the team out of a state of uncertainty, which is noticeable now, – Viktor Gancharenko said after the defeat in the home game with Orenburg.
He also noted that the leaders of the midfield Mamadou Maiga, Nikolay Kalinskiy and Luka Veshner Ticic will not have time to recover for the match with Dynamo. At the same time, Ilya Agapov has not yet made his debut due to a recurrence of a hip injury.
Nikita Medvedev, the main goalkeeper of Nizhny Novgorod, who was disqualified for his behavior after the match of the previous round, will also miss the match. Thus, 22-year-old goalkeeper Vadim Lukyanov, who had played only 5 cup matches before, should make his debut in the RPL.

Intersections
Vyacheslav Grulev will play for the first time against his native club, where he played 154 matches and scored 25 goals.
Another former Dynamo player Vladislav Karapuzov has been playing for Pari NN since the summer of 2023.
Nizhny Novgorod defender Alexander Ektov worked for three seasons under Marcel Licka in Orenburg.
For Marcel Licka and Viktor Gancharenko, this will be the fifth meeting in the Russian championship. So far, equality has been established – 2:2 in victories.
History of meetings
Saturday's meeting will be the 11th in the history of the teams' confrontation. Dynamo has a big advantage: six wins, two draws and two defeats. The goal difference is 21:10.
The top scorers of the confrontation are: Daniil Fomin (4 goals), Fedor Smolov (3), Yaroslav Gladyshev (3), Konstantin Tyukavin (3) and Nikolay Kalinskiy (3).
In the first round match, Dynamo confidently won at home with a score of 3:1 thanks to Luis Chavez's double and a goal by Nicolas Ngamaleu.

The referee panel
The meeting will be served by Kirill Levnikov, who will be assisted by linesmen Dmitry Ermakov and Andrei Vereteshkin. Artem Lyubimov and Alexey Amelin will be responsible for the video assistance to referees (VAR) system.
This season, the 41-year-old referee from St. Petersburg worked at the matches of Dynamo with Fakel (3:1), Orenburg (2:2) and both meetings with Rostov (both – 1:1), as well as at the recent cup match with CSKA (1:2).
