Dynamo continues its winning streak — the latest side to fall to Sandro Schwarz’s team was CSKA (3–1). Konstantin Tyukavin scored his 67th goal for Dynamo, Viktor Okishor netted his fourth in his last five matches, and the winning goal came from Roberto Fernández, who found the back of the net for the first time in two years.

“We weren’t sure about Maksim Osipenko; he’s played excellently this season, but after his injury, he only took part in his first full team training session yesterday. We spoke with him this morning and decided to field ‘Robbie’ [Roberto Fernández] instead. I’m very happy for him — he scored a crucial goal. Even without regular playing time, he remains a perfect example of how to work hard in training and stay a true professional,” Sandro noted after the match.

With this result, the ‘White-Blues’ have extended their unbeaten run to nine matches—the longest active streak in European football. This run includes four derby victories, a feat not achieved since the 2012/13 season.

Juan Cáceres and Rubens, who missed the ‘Brotherly Derby’ due to suspensions, will return for the upcoming match in Samara.

Having parted ways with Zaurbek Tedeev and Artem Dzyuba, Akron has yet to establish a new identity under the guidance of Serbian manager Srđan Blagojević, who previously coached Partizan. The team’s efforts to restructure their attacking play have been further complicated by injuries to Maksim Boldyrev and Dmitry Pestryakov—both of whom played key roles last season.

As a result, Akron has managed only one win in 11 rounds—a victory over Akhmat, a side that played the majority of that match with ten men. That win slightly improved their home record; the Tolyatti-based club has collected just four points at home, compared to five points earned on the road (all from draws). The most recent of these draws came in the last round against Dynamo Makhachkala, where Akron salvaged a point in the dying minutes (1–1).

"We are one of the best teams when it comes to ball possession and how we handle play in the first and second thirds of the pitch. But then, a poor pass or a wrong decision follows: we might shoot when we should have made another pass, or attempt the wrong move when we should have dribbled or delivered a cross. Consequently, we lose the advantage we worked so hard to create in the earlier phases of play. We are working on this and trying to solve the problem," Blagojević said following the match against the Makhachkala side.

In that game, Akron’s primary forward, Gilson Benchimol — who has recorded four goals and two assists in the Russian Premier League this season — was sidelined due to injury. Konstantin Maradishvili and Khetag Khosonov also missed the match.

In the last round, our Roberto Fernandez from Paraguay and his full namesake from Bolivia, who plays for Akron, scored their first goals this season.

Another Togliatti midfielder Kristian Bistrovich and Bakhtiyor Zaynutdinov played for CSKA in 2020-2021.

The teams met five times: after a zero draw and a penalty shootout defeat in the cup meeting in April 2023, Dynamo beat Togliatti twice the season before last with a total score of 4:1. Last season, the teams exchanged away victories – the match at VTB Arena ended with a score of 1:2, and in Samara Dynamo took revenge 3:2.

The top scorers of this young confrontation are Konstantin Tyukavin and Stefan Loncar, who scored twice each.

Igor Kaplenkov together with assistants Dmitry Semenov and Ruslan Shekemov will officiate the meeting. Jan Bobrovsky and Yevgeny Kukulyak will be responsible for the Video Referee Assistance System (VAR).

Previously, the 36-year-old Muscovite worked in the field for only one blue-and-white match, when they beat Akron on the road in April (3:2).
