In the first official match of the season, the blue and white houses played a zero draw with the Samara Wings of the Soviets, despite almost three dozen strikes for two and xG, which exceeded three goals. – We saw two different halves in our performance. In the first one, we controlled the game, created a lot of good chances, but didn't use them. The problem was in the second half. We are not happy with the result and the game in the second half, so we need to increase the intensity and work with the ball," said Sandro Schwartz after the match.

However, Baltika struggled in the spring, without several of their leading players, and their last win was in March. Defenseman Aleksandr Filin is still recovering from a torn cruciate ligament, another defensive pillar, Kevin Andrade, left for Zenit, the team's top scorer, Bryan Gil, missed preseason and was benched for the first round, and starting goalkeeper Maksim Borisko transferred to CSKA Moscow immediately after the match against the Army Men.

"The team entered the season in a condition it's never been in before. In the first round, we ran the most in the league. If anyone says we're a bit heavy, let them look at the numbers. But football isn't track and field. Here, you need to not only run, but also think. We still have room to improve in this area," said Talalaev, calling Borisko's then-unfulfilled transfer "a shot in the head."

However, a replacement was quickly found: Yevgeny Latyshonok returned to Kaliningrad on loan from Paris NN, which had purchased his transfer from Zenit. Dmitry Skopintsev played for Baltika in the FNL in 2017 and scored 11 goals then.

Kaliningrad midfielder Ilya Petrov joined Dynamo in 2016, but never played a single match for the main team.

His namesake Maxim Petrov twice entered the field together with Anton Miranchuk when he was a Lokomotiv player.

Sandro Schwarz and Andrei Talalaev met three times as Dynamo and Akhmat coaches, and here the German specialist has the advantage – two wins against one.

In 14 official meetings Dynamo did not know defeats – 10 wins and 4 draws. The difference between goals scored and conceded is 26:10.

The top scorers in the history of the confrontation are: Oleg Terekhin (4 goals), Yevgeny Lutsenko (3), Konstantin Tyukavin (2), Kirill Panchenko (2) and Denis Makarov (2).

The match will be refereed by Inal Tanashev, assisted by linesmen Rustam Mukhtarov and Ruslan Shekemov. Kirill Levnikov and Artem Chistyakov will be responsible for the video assistant referee (VAR) system.

Last season, the 29-year-old referee from Nalchik officiated the White-Blues' away games against Sochi (1-1), Rubin (0-0), and Spartak (1-1), as well as the home win against Krasnodar (2-1).
