About the opponent
There are only six people left in the Baltic team who remember the last meeting of the teams in May 2024 and its incredible ending, in which goals by Roberto Fernandez and Nicolas Ngamaleu brought the blue and whites an away victory (3:2).
Andrei Talalaev's team spent last season in the First League and deservedly won it, overtaking Torpedo by 4 points. At the same time, the Baltics lost both face-to-face matches to Muscovites. But, in addition, they lost only once and conceded only 18 goals in 34 matches. It is not surprising that Kaliningrad fans recognized central defender Kevin Andrade as the best player of the season.
In the offseason, the team managed to keep most of the leaders, except for the top scorer Vitaly Lisakovich (6 goals) and captain Alexander Osipov, and seriously strengthen the squad by inviting a dozen experienced players. Among them are Daniil Utkin, Mingiyan Beveev and Alexander Filin, well-known to fans from their performances in the RPL.
At the beginning of the training camp, the Kaliningrad team lost 0:1 to Zenit-2 and Shinnik with the same score, but then they gave a surprise by beating Zenit main team in St. Petersburg. Having conceded a goal in the first half after a set piece, the Baltics responded after the break with a beautiful long-range shot by Ilya Petrov and their own goal from a set piece by Brian Gill, who returned after performing at the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
— We won the First League, entered the RPL and are preparing for the start of the season with a good, joyful mood, – Talalaev said after the game. – I would not overestimate the significance of this victory. I am satisfied with the functional state of my team and the quality of the game without the ball. With the ball I would like more specifics.
The team finished preparations for the season with two sparring matches with Sochi, which ended with a score of 2:0 (newcomer Tenton Yenne scored a brace) and 1:2 (Sergei Pryakhin scored a goal).

Intersections
Dmitry Skopintsev spent his most efficient part of career in Baltika, scoring 11 goals in the FNL in 2017.
The central midfielder of Kaliningrad, Ilya Petrov, joined Dynamo in 2016, but never played a single match for the main squad.
Midfielder Daniil Utkin played for Rostov for several years under the leadership of Valery Karpin.
Karpin and Talalaev have crossed paths 8 times in their coaching careers, and so far Valery Georgievich has a two-fold advantage: 4 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats.
History of meetings
The teams have currently held 12 official meetings, and so far Dynamo has no defeats: 9 wins and 3 draws. The difference between goals scored and conceded is 23:8.
The best scorers in the history of the confrontation are: Oleg Terekhin (4 goals), Yevgeny Lutsenko (3), Kirill Panchenko (2) and Denis Makarov (2).

The judges

Last season, the 35-year-old judge from St. Petersburg worked on the Dynamo away cup match with Krylia Sovetov (6:3), which was remembered for the hat-trick of El-Mehdi Maouohub.
