Team status
Earlier this week, Dynamo secured a 2–1 away victory against Akhmat in a cup match, moving to the top of their group. This extends the team’s winning streak to eight matches — their best run since 1995.
The goals in Grozny came from Yaroslav Gladyshev and Viktor Okishor; the latter signed a contract extension on Friday, keeping him with the club until 2030. Additionally, Timofey Marinkin and Danil Glebov have extended their agreements with the club through 2031.
Juan Cáceres and Rubens will miss the derby due to suspension. A decision regarding the availability of Maksim Osipenko and Luis Chávez will be made on the eve of the match.
"CSKA has a very good team that has been looking impressive in recent weeks. It’s a great example for Russian football: a coach from the academy — someone who didn’t play professionally — gets an opportunity with the first team and truly makes the most of it. He’s doing an excellent job. Under his leadership, the team is playing really well—though I certainly hope we don’t see that on Sunday, and ensuring that is my responsibility," said Sandro Schwarz during a major pre-match press conference.
About the opponent
The "Army Men" are on a positive streak—they remain the only undefeated team in this season’s Russian championship. In their last three matches, they have outscored their opponents by a combined total of 10–1, securing victories over Dynamo Makhachkala (3–1) and Rodina (3–0) in the Russian Premier League, and routing Rostov (4–0) in the Cup.
Dmitry Igdisamov has shown no hesitation in integrating young players he knows well: 19-year-old Kirill Danilov has established himself as a regular in the starting defense, while 18-year-old forward Imran Firov scored his first goal for the senior squad against Rostov. Other young talents — midfielders Alexander Vakulich and Artyom Ponomarchuk, along with defender Pavel Filyushin — have also made their debuts this season.
The new signings have likewise settled in seamlessly: Ivan Oleynikov, who returned to his boyhood club, has already provided two assists, while Mohamed Azzi has immediately claimed the right-back position, even scoring a goal against Rostov.
"I’m looking forward to the match against Dynamo. It’s going to be a celebration of football — a 'Brotherly Derby.' We have a bit of a score to settle with them following our pre-season friendly," noted Dmitry Igdisamov, referring to the "Brotherly Derby" at VTB Arena, which ended in a 5–2 result.
Meanwhile, Igor Akinfeev has yet to feature this season as he continues his recovery. Additionally, Dmitry Barinov, Milan Gajić, and Moisés are sidelined and will remain out of action for the rest of the year.

Anton Miranchuk and Barinov have been playing together for Lokomotiv Moscow for 8 years.
