Last week, Dynamo defeated Rodina 3-1 at home in the first derby of the season. After conceding first, the white-blues turned the game around thanks to a brace from Konstantin Tyukavin and a goal from Anton Miranchuk. The white-blues forward brought his goal tally to 63, moving into 12th place on the club's all-time scoring list.

"Overall, we're satisfied with the result, especially with how we reacted to the goal we conceded, as well as our performance in the second half. In recent weeks, we've talked a lot about creating more chances inside the penalty area, playing more aggressively, and getting the ball to Tyukavin more often," Sandro Schwarz said after the match.

Nicolas Marichal, who missed the last three matches, trained with the team this week, as did Timofey Marinkin, who was substituted in the first half of the match against Rodina. Dmitry Alexandrov has left the team and has been loaned to Dynamo Makhachkala until the end of the season.

Lokomotiv lost all of its key central midfielders in the summer: Danila Prutsev returned to Spartak, Artem Karpukas moved to Zenit, and Alexei Batrakov left for Galatasaray. Their starting forward also left: Dmitry Vorobyov joined Krasnodar, and Nikolai Komlichenko only recently returned to training after knee surgery. So far, the only new signings are Aleksandr Kovalenko and Sergey Babkin, plus Georgiy Dzhikiya, who returned from Turkey.

All of this clearly hasn't improved the team compared to last season, and their results are lagging at the start of this season—not a single win in their first seven matches. Meanwhile, the Lokomotiv team scored first in four league games, but they've failed to secure a victory.

The same thing happened last round, when Alexander Silyanov gave the Red-Greens the lead in the derby against CSKA with a beautiful strike, but then the Army Men scored three times and celebrated a 3-2 victory (Sergey Pinyaev also scored a header from a free kick). CSKA had 10 shots on target, and Anton Mitryushkin was named Man of the Match despite conceding three goals.

"The guys who formed the core of the team last season are no longer here. What we'd put together, shaped, and what was culminated in last season's final result — the team, the system — was unfortunately dismantled within a month or two. We're currently manually rebuilding the squad. While we had certain requirements in training camp, now we're placing slightly different demands on the attacking and midfield players. All of this combined is having an impact. This is also why there is a shortfall in points", Mikhail Galaktionov noted after the derby.

Danil Glebov spent six months at the Lokomotiv Academy at the beginning of his career.

Meanwhile the defender of the railwaymen Maxim Nenakhov is a graduate of the Dynamo Academy.

In the same years, Mikhail Galaktionov also worked in it, coaching Dmitry Skopintsev.

Within the framework of the national championship, the teams crossed paths 132 times: 58 wins for Dynamo, 31 draws and 43 wins for Lokomotiv. The difference between goals scored and conceded is 239:187 in favor of our team.

The top scorers in these matches are: Dmitry Loskov (11 goals), Kevin Kuranyi (7), Konstantin Beskov, Yuri Vshivtsev and Viktor Voroshilov (all 6).

The match will be served by Ivan Abrosimov along with linesmen Egor Bolkhovitin and Kirill Bolshakov. Sergey Tsyganok and Vladimir Moskalev will be responsible for the Video Assistance System to the Referees (VAR).

Last season, the 42-year-old referee from St. Petersburg worked in the field at the guest match of Dynamo in RPL with Krasnodar (0:1), as well as home cup games with Spartak (5:2) and Krasnodar (0:0).
