Dynamo are approaching the cup meeting on the back of two derby victories in a row over Rodina (3:1) and Lokomotiv (1:0). The only goal in the match with the railwaymen was scored by Maxim Osipenko, who converted a penalty earned by Yaroslav Gladyshev. Kurban Rasulov, at the cost of injury, left his goal intact and finished the match in a protective helmet.

– It was a very combative and emotional match performed by both teams. We are happy with the result and how we got it. It was a real battle in which both teams had chances, and everything was decided by the nuances. Luck was on our side and I am very proud of my team. We wanted to take a step forward, and we did it, – Sandro Schwarz said after the match.

In the Cup draw, Grozny is still performing identically to our team – a minimal victory over Fakel (2:1) and a defeat from Krasnodar, however, on penalties (1:1, 4:5).

In winter, Akhmat retained all the leaders – only Brian Mansilla and Rifat Zhemaletdinov left notable figures. The goalkeeper line was replenished with Dynamo academy product Rasul Mitsaev, Arsen Adamov returned to the defense, the central axis was strengthened by Mali national team defender Kalidou Sidibe, Kirill Shchetinin from Rostov and Brazilian Julio Romao. The Albanian Erald Maksuti, who distinguished himself in the first match of the Russian championship, was bought on the left flank of the attack.

And Stanislav Cherchesov's team didn't have many goals at the beginning of the season – only two in the four opening rounds, which brought only two points. But since the second half of August, things have been noticeably more fun, and, starting with the aforementioned meeting with Fakel, Grozny have scored 9 goals in the last three matches. The defeat of Rostov (4:1) in the last round was followed by a shootout with Krylia Sovetov, in which the hosts took the lead twice, but were content with only a draw (3:3).

– I liked the game: we scored three goals, we play nice football. Another thing is that football is a result. We wanted to, played, scored, but at some points we didn't finish defensively. It's impossible to win in one class, which is what I told the guys. We need to draw conclusions in order to bring such matches to victory, – Stanislav Cherchesov said after the game with Krylia.

The main creative forces of the team are in excellent shape: in the last three matches Georgy Melkadze scored 4 goals, Lechi Sadulaev scored 2 goals and 3 assists, and Egash Kasintura scored 2+1.

In the Russian Cup draws, the teams crossed paths twice in the autumn of 2022, also at the group stage. In the home match, the goals of Fedor Smolov and Yaroslav Gladyshev brought Dynamo a 2:1 victory, and in Grozny, Akhmat took revenge with a similar score (1:2) – Alexander Kutitskiy scored the only goal for the blue and whites then.

Sergey Cheban will officiate the match together with assistant referees Denis Petrov and Ekaterina Kurochkina. Pavel Shadykhanov and Yevgeny Kukulyak will be responsible for the Video Referee Assistance System (VAR).

Last season, the 36-year-old referee from Moscow did not officiate matches with the participation of the blue and whites, and earlier he worked in the field for three winning matches of Dynamo.
