Team status
Dynamo’s best winning streak of the 21st century came to an end in Samara at nine matches following a 1–3 defeat to Akron. In the second half, the "White-Blues" failed to convert a number of scoring opportunities, managing only a single goal from Yaroslav Gladyshev — his 30th for the club.
"First and foremost, we are disappointed not because our winning streak has ended, but because of how we played in the first half," Sandro Schwarz noted after the match. "Akron played very boldly when in possession, while our own performance lacked sufficient aggression and compactness. Had we played the entire match the way we played in the second half, we would have had a strong chance of winning. We need to analyze this game and prepare for our next big match in Krasnodar."
It is also worth noting that Maksim Osipenko, having fully recovered from an injury, returned to the starting lineup and was named the player of the match against Akron.
About the opponent
At the start of the season, following eight consecutive victories, it appeared that Krasnodar had masterfully navigated the loss of their long-time leader, Eduard Spertsyan. However, a cup match at the VTB Arena proved highly consequential: although Krasnodar won, they lost Nikita Krivtsov — the primary creative force during the summer months — for the remainder of the year.
As a result, Murad Musayev’s side has failed to secure a single win in regulation time throughout the autumn. Their only success came via a penalty shootout against Fakel in Voronezh — a team that later pulled off a surprise 2–0 victory in the return fixture in Krasnodar. That result allowed Dynamo to displace the "Bulls" from the top spot in the group.
Krasnodar’s winless streak has now reached seven matches — a drought not seen since the 2018/19 season (when it hit 11). In their most recent outing, they held the lead for the better part of the match thanks to a goal from Jhon Córdoba — who has now scored in three consecutive rounds — only to concede an equalizer to Baltika from a corner kick in stoppage time (1–1).
"It’s an unfortunate run — that’s a fact. Looking at our preparation, training sessions, and level of commitment, it’s clear that everyone wanted to win; no one was indifferent. We just need one victory — we were close today, and we could have won against Lokomotiv as well. It’s a difficult situation, but we have to keep working and strive to win the next match," Murad Musaev said after the game.
In addition to Krivtsov, another key midfielder, Douglas Augusto, will also be unavailable for Tuesday’s match; he is currently training individually.
History of matches
The teams met seven times in the Russian Cup. One victory for our team (4:3), two for the Bulls (4:0 and 1:0) and four more draws (in regular time). Moreover, in Krasnodar, the winner has never been revealed in 90 minutes.
Among the players of the teams that can play on Tuesday, Daniil Fomin, Bitello, Jhon Cordoba and Kevin Lenini scored goals in these matches.
The judging panel
The meeting was entrusted to Stanislav Matveev, who will be assisted by linesmen Varanzo Petrosyan and Almir Khatmullin. Artur Fedorov and Roman Safyan will be responsible for the video Referee Assistance System (VAR).
Previously, the 33-year-old arbitrator from Troitsk had never worked in the field at Dynamo matches.
