Preview of the oldest derby in the country "Dynamo" – "Spartak"

Before the international break, Dynamo Moscow stumbled in Kaspiysk, losing with a minimum score to Makhachkala teammates. The heavy field of Anzhi Arena and stubborn resistance on the part of the hosts did not allow Valery Karpin's wards to fully show their football. The fate of the meeting between the two Dynamo was decided by Javad's precise strike in the 74th minute.   

During a two–week break in the championship, three young football players left our club on loan - Luka Gagnidze moved to Granada, representing the second Spanish division. Egor Smelov remained in the Russian Premier League, where he will play as part of the Nizhny Novgorod "Pari NN", but Denis Bokov joined the ranks of Kostroma "Spartak" from the First League.

The big news with a big + sign came for the blue and white this week. The football club has agreed to extend cooperation with Brazilian attacking midfielder Joao Paulo Bitello until 2031.

A group of Dynamo players was called to the location of various national teams. Juan Jose Caceres helped the Paraguayan national team qualify for the World Cup for the first time in 16 years, and Nicolas Ngamaleu took part in the qualifying matches of the Cameroon national team against Eswatini and Cape Verde. 

Maxim Osipenko, Danil Glebov, Anton Miranchuk and Ivan Sergeev played for the main Russian team against Jordan and Qatar. Viktor Okishor, Stanislav Bessmertniy and Denis Bokov were involved in the youth team in the games against Saudi Arabia U23s. The remaining players held a two-way game in Novogorsk, in which Konstantin Tyukavin took part. The decision on the striker's participation in the match with Spartak will be made by the club's coaching and medical staffs on derby day.

This summer, Spartak Moscow has been actively working on the transfer market. The Red-whites acquired Portuguese Jedson Fernandes from Besiktas in the middle of the field, who became one of the most expensive purchases in the club's history, strengthened the defense with Cameroonian Christopher Wu (Rennes) and Ganz Alexander Djiku (Fenerbahce), diluting this international trio with two Russians – lateral Ilya Samoshnikov from Lokomotiv and striker Anton Zabolotny from the "Khimki" that have sunk into Oblivion.

A much more impressive group of players went to the exit, including defenders Mienti Abena, Nikita Chernov and Alexis Duarte, midfielders Ricardo Mangash, Jesus Medina, Mikhail Ignatov, Anton Zinkovsky and Danil Prutsev.

The start of the 2025/26 season at Spartak clearly did not go well. In five rounds, the wards of Dejan Stankovic won only one victory, having drawn twice and suffered two defeats. The sword of Damocles' resignation hung over the Serbian coach, but the situation began to improve even before the September break. The red-and-whites outplayed Rubin Kazan on the road (2:0) and got three points in a difficult home match with Sochi (2:1), in which referee Ivan Abrosimov put two penalties in favor of the hosts.

— The start was carried out according to plan: for 15-20 minutes the guys did what we asked, — Stankovic said after the match. — We applied high pressure and eventually opened an account. However, then the mistakes started, they lost their rhythm, concentration and confidence. Gradually, the opponent took over the game. During the break we tried to fix something. We understood that it would be more difficult in the second half. There were moments, but in football everything is decided by episodes. Today they turned out like this: cancellation of the red card, a penalty in the last minutes. In the game with Zenit in a similar situation, everything did not work out in our favor.

On Monday, September 8, the red and white played a friendly match with the Belarusian club ML Vitebsk, in which they achieved a "dry" and a major victory with a score of 5:0. Roman Zobnin, Anton Zabolotny and Pablo Solari scored in the first half. After the break, Alexander Dobroditsky scored his debut goal for the main team, while Solari scored a double.        

Bakhtiyor Zainutdinov and Jedson Fernandes played together for Besiktas from 2023 to 2025.

From 2016 to 2019, Rubens Diaz and Marquinhos crossed paths at the academy of the Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro.

In 2020 and 2021 Denis Makarov and Ilya Samoshnikov defended the colors of the Kazan "Ruby".

As the head coach of Rostov, Valery Karpin competed with Deyan Stankovich three times, taking into account the championship and the Cup of Russia. So far, Valery Georgievich has a slight advantage – 2 victories against one defeat.

In the national championships, the principal rivals held 165 meetings with each other: 61 of them were won by Spartak, 43 by Dynamo, 61 more times the teams parted in peace.

The top scorers of the confrontation in the history of the national championships are Sergey Solovyov (11 goals), Sergey Salnikov (11), Vasily Kartsev (9), Konstantin Beskov, Nikita Simonyan, Sergey Rodionov and Quincy Promes (7 each).

The oldest derby was entrusted to Nizhny Novgorod judge Egor Egorov, who will be assisted by linesmen Maxim Gavrilin and Alexei Ermilov. Andrey Fisenko and Roman Safyan will be responsible for the video Referee Assistance System (VAR).

Earlier, two matches with the participation of blue and white took place under Egorov's whistle, in which they beat Dynamo Makhachkala (2:1) and Akron Togliatti (2:1).
