Dynamo Moscow head coach Rolan Gusev shared his opinion about the newcomer of the blue and whites David Ricardo, his coaching staff and the help of Valery Gazzaev.
— I'd like to thank the club's management for their trust. I received everything I wanted—first and foremost, assistants on the coaching staff. Pavel Konstantinovich was accommodating on all issues, for which I'm especially grateful. I wanted this to be a team of like-minded individuals. We've developed a unified team training concept so that the players understand our requirements and the kind of football we should play. We frequently discuss exercises, requirements, and the principles of our game. The most important thing now is to maintain a balance between physical fitness, technique, and tactics.
— What are the team's goals for the rest of the season, given their current standings?
— We understand that every game will be like a final for us. We must rise as high as possible, because our players deserve better and are capable of much more. We will approach each match as if it were our last, with the goal of winning.
— How did you choose a new fitness coach?
— The management was very helpful in finding a fitness coach. It was a painstaking process; it was important not to make any mistakes. I'd heard a lot about Agustin from my friend Osmar Ferreira, with whom I played at CSKA. He'd given me very positive reviews, plus I knew his track record.
— There were rumors that Valeri Gazzaev might end up at the club. Can you comment on that?
— Valeri Georgievich and I are always in touch. I consult with him, but the coaching staff is already in place; we have our own team. And Valeri Georgievich certainly wouldn't want to be an assistant. We met recently, and he gave me a lot of his notes, which I constantly study and learn from. Whenever I need help, I always know I can turn to him and count on it.
— Please comment on the first transfer of 2026 – the signing of David Ricardo.
— We are very happy to welcome David to our team. I hope he will do his utmost to help us achieve the results we need. I know his qualities very well; I've watched a lot of videos of his games. I know he can play both centrally and wing-back. He has a good left foot, plays well up top, is a good tackler, and has an excellent first-time pass. He demonstrated all of this yesterday in his first training session. We hope he succeeds.
— How important will it be for you to play against foreign teams in the BetBoom Dynamo Global Challenge?
— Of course, it's interesting for us. After all, it's international experience. We will use these games to prepare for the championship. We don't have much information about Chinese football; we're more interested in the results of Leonid Viktorovich's team. I also learned a lot from talking with Vasily Berezutsky that the team competed for the championship and won the Cup.
