The acting head coach of Dynamo Moscow, Rolan Gusev, answered journalists' questions after the match with Krylia Sovetov (3:1).
— There was nervousness at the beginning of the match, especially in the defensive line. During the break we calmed the guys down, made adjustments, but there was a quick red card, and we had to rebuild.
Before the game, we indicated that the team should not only be able to play offensively, but also to defend: when it is necessary, be patient on the defensive, play in a low or medium block. And so it turned out. Immediately in the first match, such a test. Thanks to the guys that they endured, fought, and it bore fruit.
— Why didn't you make changes immediately after the red card?
— We understood that the Krylia did not create much danger. It was mostly flanking passes that Niko and Robi handled. Then we dropped Glebov to three defenders and released Dima Alexandrov to help the central defenders and win the aerial balls.
— What exactly have you changed compared to the previous coaching staff?
— First of all, we worked on team interactions in defense, on individual tactics. We understood where there were problems. It is clear that there was not much time. Everything that was good, we will try to keep.
— Is it possible to say that today you just beat Krylia due to more disciplined actions?
— For me, in general, game discipline is a priority thing. I asked the guys about it, talked about it on theories – that we should play more solidly. And today we won due to discipline and the fact that the guys worked for each other and for the guy who was expelled.
— Did Jorge Carrascal somehow explain his action?
— Yes, he explained, apologized to the team. We'll talk to him again within the team.
