Dynamo Moscow head coach Rolan Gusev answered journalists' questions after the cup match with Krasnodar (0:0).
— You had a great match. What did the team lack today to win?
— We missed the goals. There was more fighting in the first half, but in the second we regrouped: Miranchuk came on in the center of the field and began to link the play in the center of the field, Moumi was moved to his comfortable flank, and Bitello moved to the left. We immediately gained an advantage, but we couldn't capitalize on it.
— You have a wide choice of wingers. Why did you decide to field Gladyshev and Ngamaleu on the flanks today?
— All our wingers are working well in training, and it's very difficult to choose between them because each one deserves to start. Arthur started against Zenit, and today we decided to start Gladyshev. They have similar styles, and both are in good form, so such a choice is always difficult. Gladyshev played well, and his substitution at halftime was tactical.
— The game was largely determined by the refereeing decisions. How would you rate them?
— Whether I agree or disagree with a decision changes nothing. The match is over, the result is in, and there's no point in discussing it anymore.
— On Saturday, Dynamo conceded three goals against Orenburg, and today, not a single one against Krasnodar. What kind of Dynamo is this?
— When we were scoring four or five goals at the beginning of the year, I said we shouldn't expect that in every game. We'll concede, keep a clean sheet sometimes, and score just once, like in Rostov. The main thing is that Dynamo must be strong and balanced. We conceded a lot against Orenburg, we worked on our mistakes, and you saw how the team played defensively today.
— The defense really played almost perfectly, except for one shot by David. You were playing very high up the pitch; will you continue to do so?
— We always try to play like that. Sometimes the opponent forces us to drop deeper. We had a certain amount of preparation for Krasnodar — we were preparing for their key player, who is the focal point of the entire game up front. It was important to prevent long passes into our penalty area. We knew we had to get higher and play with Cordoba in the center of the field.
— The return leg will be decisive for this season. Will you be planning your remaining matches with it in mind?
— Of course, we won't give up on the league; that's not about Dynamo Moscow. We always go out there to win. We'll start preparing and developing a strategy closer to the Krasnodar match, but now we need to think about the next league game.
— How can Dynamo break its losing streak in Krasnodar?
— By having a specific game plan and proper preparation. That's football; every series ends eventually. Let's hope that happens in May.
— The next league game is against Akron. Should we expect any changes to the lineup, and what will you be focusing on?
— We'll be focusing on our play. Regarding the lineup, there are some injuries to the guys, so everything will depend on the severity of those injuries, like Fernandez's. We'll build our game plan based on that.
