Dynamo Moscow head coach Rolan Gusev answered journalists' questions after the match with Akron (3:2).
— In the last round, we let a win slip away against Orenburg. Today, we allowed our opponent to come back from 0-2 down again. What were your thoughts at that moment?
— Anxious thoughts. Of course, you need to bring games like these to victory and take advantage of your chances. We had a good game, but that's football. Our opponent equalized, and the guys did well to show character, not give up, and take three points.
— What's the main reason why our opponents manage to come back?
— When the score is 2-0, a certain complacency sets in, a confidence that turns into overconfidence. Some players start playing slower, holding on to the lead. Ball control is necessary, but not so slow. I think it all has to do with that.
— But in terms of entertainment, the matches are 10 out of 10.
— Of course, for the fans it's true, but for us, it's not so much. When you're leading 2-0, you need to keep playing your best, attack, and score more. Of course, you can't give up matches with such a lead.
— How much did Konstantin Tyukavin's appearance change the game?
— Both our forwards played great today—Vanya Sergeev and Kostya Tyukavin. They always do their job very well and do what's required of them. Kostya scored the winning goal, Vanya worked well for the team, had some chances, but almost got lucky. They both did well.
— How important was this victory from a tournament standpoint?
— We understand our situation perfectly. This is more about our reputation. Everyone understands what Dynamo Moscow means to us. Everyone must understand that we must go out and play to win every match. Yes, our standing in the tournament isn't the best, but that doesn't mean we're giving up on the league.
