The acting head coach of Dynamo Moscow, Rolan Gusev, answered journalists' questions after the match with Krasnodar (0:3).
— What didn't work out for the team today?
— We failed to play more aggressively in attack. After the missed goal, we had to open up, and then the rebound helped the hosts, and a penalty at the very end. Congratulations to Krasnodar with the championship.
— What has the team improved compared to last season, and what do you still need to work on?
— I repeat once again that when I said the phrase about the "different team", I meant changes in defense. When Marcel has been working for almost two years, it would be ridiculous to say that this is a completely different team.
How did we improve compared to the previous season? I think all the guys have improved in terms of character, teamwork. Especially in the attack there were good interactions.
— How much did the injuries of the leading players, which were more than last season, affect the result?
— Of course, injuries of leading players affect. I don't want to look for an excuse after a defeat. But when you lose Tyukavin, Bitello, Balbuena, Laxalt, then, of course, it affects the result.
— How did you compare last year's match and the atmosphere at it with today's?
— These are slightly different stories. Then we fought for the championship, and today only Krasnodar did it. The difference is in importance – in football there is only a championship. But still, we fought for medals today, we wanted to do our best.
I would like to say a huge thanks to the guys for the short period that we have worked together. I immediately asked them to be honest about football, and they heard me. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to win today.
— Why didn't Bitello come to Krasnodar?
— He played through pain with Spartak and Akron. All week he left the field in the middle of a training session, and we waited until the last moment. In the end, he said that he would not be able to help us because of the pain.
— After the victory with Akron, you said in the locker room that "we should not let this team become a champion in a match with us." Do you regret those words?
— No, I don't regret it. I would have said the same thing. I couldn't say, "Guys, we're going there to give up." You should always tell the team only about winning.
