Dynamo Moscow defender Roberto Fernandez turns 25 on Saturday.
Roberto was born in the Paraguayan city of Concepcion, later moved to the capital of Asuncion, where he began to progress rapidly and got into the youth national team of Paraguay. In 2017, as the captain of the U-17 national team, he led it to the bronze medals of the South American Championship, and then played at the World Youth Championship. At the age of 18 years and 8 months, he made his debut for Guarani and soon became the main central defender of the club, twice winning silver medals of the Paraguayan championship.
In January 2022, Fernandez received his first call-up to the main national team of Paraguay, and six months later he signed a five-year contract with Dynamo. In March 2025, the blue and white and Roberto agreed to extend the agreement until the end of the 2028/29 season.
Last season, the Paraguayan defender played 27 matches for the blue and white (in the championship and the Russian Cup), in which he scored one goal and made one assist.
