On Tuesday, the famous defender of Dynamo Valery Zykov turns 82 years old.
Valery Borisovich was born in Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod) and started playing football in local clubs Lokomotiv and Labor Reserves. He started his adult career at Volga, and in the summer of 1965 he received an invitation from Dynamo.
In our team, Zykov played 254 matches (16th place in the club's history), won the USSR Cup twice with the team, two silver and two bronze medals of the national championship.
He was the captain of the team in the final match of the Cup Winners' Cup in 1972. He was also included in the list of the 33 best players in the country five times.
