The head coach of the blue and whites Sandro Schwarz answered journalists' questions after the home match with Rodina (3:1).
– The first 10-15 minutes of the match were very difficult for us, we didn't get into our rhythm. Then we created a few chances, but the opponent opened the scoring. It's good that we continued to play our football. It is important that Bales distinguished himself by equalizing the score. The second half turned out to be good, we created a lot of chances at the beginning of the half, scored two goals, and could have more. In general, we are satisfied with the result and especially with the way we reacted to the missed ball, as well as the game in the second half.
– Why did the team roll into the game so hard?
– I think it's not about underestimating the opponent. When you play well and create a lot in previous matches, but you don't win, then, of course, this affects your self-confidence. Probably, this was the reason for such a game at the beginning of the match. It is also worth paying tribute to the opponent, who performed very well in the first 15 minutes of the match.
– The coach of Rodina noted that your bench is much stronger, and after the break it affected. Did you expect that the opponent will get hooked in the second half and you will get an advantage due to this?
– To be honest, no. We were concentrating on our game. We played against Krasnodar three days ago, and Zenit before that, and the most important thing was to see the team's reaction to these matches. And it's good that in the second match of the week after the break we were able to increase the intensity, which indicates a good physical readiness of the team.
– Not everything worked out today on the right flank. What does Yaroslav Gladyshev convince you so much that he does not drop out of the starting lineup?
– Gladyshev is a high–quality football player. I understand that everyone expects effective actions from him, but we need to be patient and believe in our players. He was an important part of our team today.
– Why did you replace Timofey Marinkin in the first half?
– We wanted to protect him from possible removal, because he already had a yellow card, and with it he would not have been able to act as aggressively in the center of the field. Sometimes you have to make such decisions, and I think they can benefit the development of young players.
– What adjustments did you make during the break?
– It was very important for us to convey to the extreme defenders that they need to shift periodically to overload the central zone. This was the main point, and we also talked about the organization of defense.
– Judging by the statistical indicators, the team played better than in previous matches. How satisfied are you with the development of the team? Will this progress allow us to beat Lokomotiv and Akhmat?
– I'm not thinking about Akhmat yet, because we have a derby with Lokomotiv ahead of us. As for development, today's victory should add to our confidence. I haven't seen the statistics on today's match yet, but in recent weeks we have talked a lot about creating more chances inside the penalty area, playing sharper and bringing the ball to Tyukavin more often.
