Dynamo Moscow head coach Sandro Schwarz answered journalists' questions after the opening match of the season with Krylia Sovetov (0:0).
– We saw two different halves in our performance. In the first one, we controlled the game, created a lot of good chances, but didn't use them. The problem was in the second half. At the very beginning of the half, the Samaritans created a moment, after that we lost the threads of the game and could not create good opportunities to score a goal. And as a result, the match ended in a goalless draw. We are not happy with the result and the game in the second half, so we need to increase the intensity and work with the ball.
– In the game against CSKA there was ease and a lot of goals, but in the first official match there was neither one nor the other. How will you deal with this problem?
– Sometimes it happens when you have a very good pre-season and everyone has high expectations from the start of the season that everything will be exactly the same. But today was a completely different game, especially its second half, and we have to work on that.
– Timofey Marinkin was not in the squad today. It seemed that he was missing in the center of the field.
– Yes, he played great against CSKA, but he had muscle problems during the week, so he wasn't in the squad today. Glebov is also a very important player for us, especially when organizing the game in defense. If we talk about the second half, I wouldn't single out anyone, the problem was in the team game.
– Dynamo can be called a team of the first half, when there are a lot of forces and a lot of attacks are carried out. But if you can't score, then in the second half the forces run out and you can't create such pressure. What kind of resource does the team have here?
– This is only the first game of the season, so it's hardly worth drawing such conclusions now. In the second half, we didn't work with the ball clearly and cleanly enough, and that was the problem, not the physical condition.
– What should Dynamo improve in?
– Judging by the second half, it's obvious in working with the ball. We have to play more forward, make more in-depth rushes, create more chances in the second half of the match. We can also mention the mental component: there were a lot of emotions and experiences in the first official game, so we need to find a balance in this regard as well.
– When to expect Juan Caceres and Luis Chavez in the application for the match?
– It's good that Juan and Luis have returned after a successful World Cup. They have just arrived at the location of the team, so they will undergo a medical examination on Monday, and then we will look at their condition on Tuesday at training.
– What qualities of Dynamo, which you coached in your first visit, would you like to see today and what would you like to bring new?
– It would be wrong to compare this team with the one that was four or five years ago. Of course, we would like to keep our philosophy of the game, so that we have our own style: when playing defensively, offensively, in transitional phases of the game. We are working on this in every training session and in every match. Of course, this style will be a little different from what it was five years ago, but we want to play just as aggressively.
