The head coach of the Moscow Dynamo, Valery Karpin, on the air of Okko Sport, shared his expectations from the friendly match with Lokomotiv.
— Why did you decide to hold the match in three 45-minute halves? Were there any concerns about the heat?
— There are no concerns at all. We wanted all the players to play on the final day of the training camp. To do this, we either had to hold two games – in the morning and in the evening – which is completely inconvenient from all points of view, or play in this format. Lokomotiv agreed to play three 45-minute halves. Some will play 90 minutes, some – 70, some – 60. The main thing is that all the players will be involved.
— Your teams always play intense football. How ready is Dynamo for it in percentage terms?
— It is difficult to judge in percentage terms. It is clear that we are not 100 percent ready yet, but that is normal, since we started on June 16, and not even a month has passed yet. The players are in different conditions at the moment, some have had more rest, some less, so we will have to bring them to a common denominator already at the beginning of the championship.
— Danil Glebov is not on the roster for the match, how is he feeling?
— There is nothing serious with him, he will start training next week. Unfortunately, there was a clash in the game with Akhmat, where he twisted his ankle. Nothing serious, but he is on pause for now.
— Jorge Carrascal is on the roster. Is there a chance that he will take to the field today? And can he leave Dynamo?
— He is sick, he had a temperature, and he only trained with the team for the first day yesterday. As for whether he will be on the team or not, you can ask the same about any player. For example, someone will offer a hundred million euros for a football player, and he will not be on the team. At the moment, he is on the team, working, like everyone else.
— Ivan Sergeev is on the roster today, what is his condition?
— It's clear that he's not in optimal condition. I'd like him to play at least 45 minutes. He's been without a normal training process for three weeks, so if he can handle 45 minutes, that'll be good.
