The head coach of Dynamo Moscow, Valery Karpin, shared his expectations from the away match of the Russian Cup with Zenit.
— This is a two-legged tie—is there a special strategy, or will each match be a different story?
— There's no special strategy. The thing is, two days later, the third day, there's a league game, so you need to distribute the workload based on the players' condition.
— Was it difficult to choose the starting lineup because of this?
— There were some challenges, but they're more related to the condition of some players and injuries than to the difficulty of the match.
— Does it matter that you're playing the first match away?
— I think with the abolition of away goals advantage, it's no longer a factor.
— Does the fact that even if they lose, the team will remain in the tournament relax the players?
— I'm sure not. The same could be said about group matches, where even third place goes to the playoffs. But we've seen real battles for second and third place in all groups.
