Born in Kaliningrad, Kosteley previously played for Zenit St. Petersburg. He took part in 4 matches for the Russian youth national team of his age, won the FUR Cup, the North-West championship and the international tournament in China. Gleb was recognized as the best goalkeeper of various tournaments.
