Young football players born in 2015 from Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Kazakhstan took part in the international competitions held from March 19 to 21 in Baku. The tournament has become an important platform for the development of football and the strengthening of international sports ties.
The first place was won by the team of Moscow "Dynamo", demonstrating a confident game throughout the tournament. The second place was taken by "Kairat" from Almaty, and the winners of bronze medals were Dynamo from Voronezh.
All participants showed a decent level, and the matches were held in a persistent and competitive struggle. The participation of teams from different countries made it possible to demonstrate the diversity of football schools and approaches to training young players. This made the tournament not only a competitive platform, but also an important experience for the development of young athletes.
Separately, during the closing ceremony, the symbolic significance of the tournament dedicated to the memory of Anatoly Banishevsky, a football player whose name is inextricably linked with the history of Baku and Soviet football, was emphasized. The organizers noted that the tournament contributed to the preservation of the continuity of generations and the popularization of football values among young people.
The tournament was also timed to the anniversary of Yuri Konstantinovich Kuznetsov, an outstanding football player who linked his career with Dynamo and Neftchi clubs. Known as a master of precision transmissions, he became the champion of the USSR three times as part of the blue and white. After completing his playing career, he devoted himself to coaching and teaching, playing a significant role in the development of the youth training system and the education of new generations of football players. His contribution to the development of football was separately emphasized by the organizers and guests of the event.
A number of distinguished guests attended the tournament. Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC SOLLERS Adil Shirinov and Director of the Lev Yashin Dynamo Academy Alexander Kuznetsov, a native of Baku and the son of Yuri Kuznetsov, delivered welcoming speeches at the award ceremony.
Also present at the award ceremony were: Lilia Obolonskaya, Head of the Department for Relations with Government Agencies of PJSC SOLLERS, Denis Dmitriev, Dynamo Academy Development Director, Jenc Sumer, Neftchi President, Zaur Azizov, Neftchi Football Teams and Operations Director, Rajab Radjabov, Procurement Director of PJSC SOLLERS, Deputy General Director Secretary of the Azerbaijan Football Federation Kamran Valiyev, Director of PR and Communications of VTB Bank-Azerbaijan Sadraddin Agjaev, Senior Adviser of the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan Valery Korchagin, Adviser-Envoy of the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan Yuri Spirin, as well as former Dynamo Moscow players Iskender Javadov and Veli Kasumov. Their participation highlighted the high status of the tournament and its significance for the entire football community.
The Baku Cup contributed to the preservation of the memory of an outstanding football player, the development of young players and the strengthening of international sports ties. The competitions were held at a high organizational level, uniting participants around the values of football and fair play. The organizers stressed that the tournament was made possible thanks to the joint work of the Lev Yashin Dynamo Academy, Neftchi FC and project partners.
