Dynamo lost to Krasnodar in the cup match

The match of the 5th round of the group stage of the Cup of Russia, held in Krasnodar, ended with a score of 1:2.

Of the starting lineup that took the pitch in Samara on Saturday, only David Ricardo was in the starting eleven for the match in Krasnodar. The Brazilian found himself at the center of attention in the very first minute, making a sliding challenge that caught the leg of Christian — who had already begun to go down inside the penalty area. After reviewing the VAR footage, the referee pointed to the spot; Dmitry Vorobyov fired the ball toward the left corner, but Kurban Rasulov pulled off a brilliant save!

Shortly after, the visitors’ new signings created a promising opportunity: Maximiliano Gutiérrez played a ball through for Josué Casimir, but a defender caught up just as he was about to shoot, preventing a clean strike. In an open, end-to-end game, it was the hosts who struck first: Vorobyov played a one-two with Magomed Ozdoyev and fired a shot past Leon Seidensahl, tucking it neatly into the corner.

The goal did not change the nature of the match, as neither side showed any intention of abandoning their attacking approach. A defender managed to get his head to a long-range effort from Viktor Okishora, while a curling shot from Anton Miranchuk was gathered cleanly by the goalkeeper. Meanwhile, Rasulov produced another spectacular save, parrying away a shot from Maicon Rodrigues, who had connected with a cross from a corner kick. In another instance, Vorobyov let Dynamo off the hook, failing to score from just a few meters out following a cross from Christian from the right flank.

Towards the end, Ivan Sergeev and Gutiérrez twice set up Casimir in open space: in the first instance, Josué fired a powerful shot, but it went straight at the goalkeeper, while in the second, his delicate pass toward Sergeyev ended up clipping the crossbar. Then, in the 44th minute, Vorobyov scored once again, maneuvering past several defenders before rolling the ball into the corner of the net.

After the break, the "White-Blues" gained the territorial advantage, but their numerous crosses into the "Bulls'" penalty area proved ineffective. A long-range effort from Okishor landed safely in the hands of Alexander Koryakin, while Rasulov parried a shot from 15 meters out by Yefim Burkin — who, a couple of minutes later, missed the far corner from inside the box.

In the 60th minute, a triple substitution saw Danil Glebov, Artur, and Konstantin Tyukavin enter the pitch, with Dynamo shifting to a two-striker formation. Shortly after, Artur found Dmitry Skopintsev in the penalty area; Skopintsev got past a defender but fired his shot over the crossbar. Artur then tried his own luck from distance, with Koryakin parrying the ball back into the danger zone.

Following a series of substitutions of their own, the hosts managed to neutralize Dynamo’s attacking momentum. They even had chances to extend their lead further, but Rasulov intervened once again, parrying a dangerous strike from Joao Batchi. Deep into stoppage time, the "White-Blues" managed to score a consolation goal: Yaroslav Gladyshev delivered a cross to Tyukavin, who headed the ball into the net.

Consequently, with one round left to play, Dynamo sits in second place in Group B, trailing Krasnodar by a single point. In their next match, on October 31, the "White-Blues" will host Akhmat Grozny. Tickets for the match at VTB Arena are available for purchase on our website.
