Dynamo lost to Akron in away game

The match of the 12th round of the Russian Premier League with Akron, held in Samara, ended with the defeat of our team with a score of 1:3.

Rubens, having served a suspension, and Maksim Osipenko, who has fully recovered from an injury, both returned to the starting lineup. On the right side of the defense, however, Sandro Schwarz opted to stick with Nicolás Marichal — who had performed excellently in the derby against CSKA — leaving Juan Cáceres on the bench.

The hosts made an energetic start to the match: in the third minute, Slobodan Tedić pounced on a rebound inside the penalty area and fired a powerful shot from about 12 meters out, but Andrey Lunev reacted in time to avert the danger. Dynamo also applied active pressure, forcing their opponents into a few errors. Daniil Fomin and Konstantin Tyukavin both tried their luck with long-range efforts, though neither posed a serious threat.

In the 17th minute, the Tolyatti side executed a swift transition from defense; Dmitry Pestryakov carried the ball in from the flank and laid it off to Artyom Shumansky, who opted for a long-range strike. The ball took a deflection off Fomin, sharply changing its trajectory, and Lunev was unable to shift across to the opposite corner in time—0–1.

After conceding a goal, the "White-Blues" seized the initiative, gradually increasing the pressure. Yaroslav Gladyshev delivered a clever layoff into the penalty area for Fomin, but the captain couldn't quite adjust his body in time to get a shot off. Shortly after, Gladyshev himself curled a left-footed effort just wide of the post. Arthur registered the team's first shot on target, though it lacked the necessary power.

Just 30 minutes in, Sandro made his first tactical change, bringing on Cáceres to replace Marichal on the flank. From that point on, the Muscovites’ dominance in possession became overwhelming. Toward the end of the half, they earned several dangerous set-piece opportunities: Fomin struck a free kick into the wall, while Tyukavin sent a header from a corner kick just over the crossbar.

After the break, Ivan Sergeyev came on for Fomin and immediately made his presence felt. First, he used a feint to get past a defender before firing a shot over the bar; then, in the 55th minute, he played the ball out to the right for Gladyshev. Yaroslav drove into the penalty area and, striking from under a defender, sent a right-footed shot precisely inside the far post — 1:1!

Dynamo kept up the pressure, creating a flurry of dangerous chances. Caceres played a clever ball into the center of the penalty area for Tyukavin, whose first-time shot was tipped behind for a corner by Vitaly Gudiev with great difficulty. Shortly after, Sergeyev and Gladyshev both fired from prime scoring positions, but on both occasions, the home side’s players managed to get in the way of shots heading toward the goal.

Against the run of play, Akron took the lead once again. Shumansky won a free kick about 20 meters from Lunyov’s goal, and Kristijan Bistrović curled an unstoppable shot into the top corner. Dynamo’s bench responded with a double substitution, bringing on Maximiliano Gutiérrez and Viktor Okishor to inject fresh energy into the attacking flanks.

Bitello had a golden opportunity to level the score, striking the ball with power following an elegant pass from Sergeyev, but Gudiev was equal to the task. A few minutes later, it was Tyukavin who set up Sergeyev with a well-timed through ball, but his shot went just wide of the post. In another promising attack, the ball reached Okishor; instead of shooting, he sent a cross across the face of goal. The ball took a deflection and fell to Tyukavin, whose header was gathered by the goalkeeper.

In the final moments, Stefan Lončar dispossessed Bitello near the Dynamo penalty area. Lunev managed to block the Montenegrin’s shot with his foot, but Maksim Boldyrev was the first to react to the rebound, slotting the ball into an empty net to seal the match.

Thus, Dynamo’s longest winning streak of the 21st century came to an end at nine matches. In the next round, they will host Grozny’s Akhmat on October 31, and before that, they will play an away match against Krasnodar in the Russian Cup on October 27.
